I’m being curious that no Hawai’i players got invitation from the NT tryouts. You would think that Amber should have received one. The others are given because they crossed over to the beach and some are foreign players.

The schools send their players that they believe have potential and pay their way.

Some receive invitations (often those who have already been in the pipeline) some are put forward by their schools (this usually involves a contingent from one school going), some register themselves. As far as I'm aware all 3 Big West representatives this year were invited. I will be surprised if Amber doesn't receive an invitation next year if she has another good season.

I don't think there was serious interest. This is also a consideration. I've known several coaches who were somewhat lukewarm about their players attending. If you can realistically make a team, it's worth it but that isn't always the case.

A portion of the schedule is released with season ticket renewals (which usually come out in March). I don't think there will be a Spring exhibition.

Online renewal notices should be going out this week; hard copy renewal notices the week of March 25. I, too, doubt that there will be a spring match.

Wouldn't mind seeing a libero transfer in, and/or K.Akana and F.Danielson walk on, and all the DS/L compete; delaying a scholarship until it's clear one is deserved. Believe that's what they did with Akiu. My recollection is she didn't get awarded until after the first three or four matches. Akana deserves a schollie. That girl is an absolute gamer. Even before SASA info, I would say she deserves a 4/4 I can see Kaylei being a Wahine if not next season, in 2021.

So she ain't going to USC this Fall at all? I don't see the point of going one year if your plans are to come back home. IMO she'd start at libero here immediately.

She is going to USC--there was some uncertainty because of the coaching situation, but imho the coach they hired makes it more likely she is going to stay.
That said, she's on a partial and USC is expensive--if another school is willing to give her a full ride down the road...
