Any insight as to who the Wahine will be playing in 2020 (besides the conference teams)? I am not worried about who the Wahine will be playing in 2020 (non-conference). I am more worried if there will be a volleyball season, come fall 2020. |

Hopefully the 2020 season isn't cancelled. Curious what recruits are coming in 2021 and 2022. It's been a while since Hawaii has reeled in a top 10 recruit.

Remember back in September 2019, Hawaii hosted a tournament with, among other teams, Denver? Both teams got together for a picnic because Ah Mow and the Denver coach were good friends. Anyway, during the picnic, it was said that Hanna Helvig played the piano. Does anyone know what she played?

I don't understand what you're getting at, though. I'm not asking about VB season bc no one knows at this point. I don't see the point in discussing that we don't know yet.
There's a chance that there will be a volleyball season, though Cal State Fullerton (and San Jose State University) announcing that they'll be online only for the fall doesn't bode well for the Big West playing in the fall. If there is a season, it may be in the fall or the spring. It may be conference games only or they may play non-conference too. It may be an abbreviated conference only season. Some conferences or schools may play while others don't. It's all still up in the air.
ETA: Larry Scott (a PAC-12 commissioner) said that they'd have to decide about the fall season by the end of May. I'd guess other conferences have similar constraints, though the date may vary a little.

Postponing football to spring is a possibility for many schools because it has its own facilities. Postponing volleyball to spring is not as simple because they often share facilities with men and women’s basketball (who usually bring more money to the school as well). Then add in the complication that some schools dual roster their indoor and beach players. I fear if football is postponed to spring there will simply be no volleyball season at all. But impossible to predict and we will have to wait and see. 😢🙏 |

Not refuting your point; my point is a bit more elemental, though. The future of ANY collegiate sports being played in 2020-21 is COMPLETELY unknown. The pandemic will supersede everything!

One thing the NCAA could do is push the fall sports to March, then hold Winter and Spring sports in late Spring and Summer, with only Conference matches, no pre-conference matches. Need to remember, football drives all the other sports, revenue wise. No football, no other sports. So the NCAA will need to hold some kind of football season, whether it be in the Fall, or Spring.
