Not volleyball related but UH related, this would be pretty awesome if she’s given an opportunity. I’m rooting for her!

Relax Jimbob, just asking a simple Q. Gee Whiz . A simple question that didn't need to be asked if you just used some common sense That's why your answer is beneath me.

Should be interesting to see how UH officials handle and enforce social distancing measures throughout the year at all sporting events. We'll see a lot of masks like we do now, but the seating arrangements will no doubt need to be changed. It will be quite a sight to see players, coaches, referees, and cheerleaders donning masks. Of course this all hinges on whether the Fall sports are even played.

tayli ikenaga 2021 commits to Hawaii ! Ikenaga is a stud! Probably won’t play front row but she’s a gamer. Now if we can just land kahahawai, we would be set!

This was a nice surprise this morning - finally some recruiting news! Ikenaga is a gamer and will definitely be a contributor in the backcourt. Girl can rip for 5'3. One more scholarship to go and obviously another outside is a must. Kahahawai AND Robins would be awesome tho, but three outsides in one class is a lot and we only have one schollie to give

For 2021 we are filling spots for Williams, Rasmussen, Van Sickle, and Hanawahine. Two recruits we have in Mia Johnson and Tayli Ikenaga. For 2022 we are filling spots for Byrd and Gong. I know we are going hard after some setters in this class which makes sense.

Hmm, so theoretically if Byrd and Gong are our only seniors in 2021, and we need a setter to replace Byrd, we won't have any scholarships in 2022 unless we hold over one or two? Yikes.

Is it possible that Robyn wants to turn Tayli into a setter? I mean, Tayli is listed as 5-8 which would be the same height as Robyn and Faith Ma’afala. She is athletic and smart enough to become a setter like Robyn herself.
She can do what Brett Sheward did with the men’s team. Come in the first year as a backrow player and then move over to setter her second year. That way, when Byrd graduates, UH will have two “experienced” setters on the team. UH have a history of converting high school OHs into pretty good setters. Robyn, Dani Mafua, and Tehani Miyashiro...... just to name a few.

In either case, she's played club under Ah Mow so I'm sure they know what she brings to the table regardless of position. And always nice to have a local girl sign with the home team.

I don’t know either. I just read many articles about her and I have never seen a player with such variations in height. One site has her at 5-4. Paul Honda wrote a story non her and listed her at 5-6. MaxPrep and Scoringlive have her at 5-8. That is 4 inches difference. Never saw that before. Everybody used their own measuring tape to measure her...LOL If she is indeed 5-6 or shorter, then I guess setting is out of the question....unless she is part of a 6-2.
