I paid for my season tickets but if the season consists only of conference matches, I’m not going to be happy. How do season tickets work at Hawai'i? Were you pressured to do so, or did you do so way ahead of time? Were you going to lose your seats if you didn't?

I’ve had my same seats at the SSC since the first season of the SSC so definitely don’t want to lose them. We were given options should the season not happen. At this point, the season schedule is not known so it’s frustrating but there are more important things that we could be frustrated about.

Ouch! What a blow to women’s volleyball! Hurts to hear Hanna won’t return but totally understandable. The other international girls will take a cue from the decision Hanna made and most likely will also decide to stay put and forego the season. Sorry guys and girls I just can’t see this season happening. The way things are spiraling out of control, UH sports especially the volleyball season is the least concern for many. UH will be lucky to have any international students coming back to the US and attending school. They may even close cancel classes and go it via online. Sorry to say but all UH fall sports is a wash. Disappointing but we gotta get this pandemic under control.

I wonder if UH can fill Hanna and possibly Anna’s spot for this year? Robyn could go find someone at this late stage to fill the puka or offer some of the beach players a full scholarship to try and play this year.
Does Madi Bogle want to play indoor?KuKu Huddleston?

If one looks at the COVID-19 map on the State DOH site, Oahu's still a mess: w/ numerous hotspots.
With the extension of the fourteen day quarantine, international travel is now basically pau (yet again)!

Let me reiterate for you brooslee. This season is Pau! Won’t happen so I no need to imagine scenarios and alternating the situation by filling in pukas.

I get that Wahine fans are ready to cancel the season without Helvig, but we'll know more in the next 2 weeks, from a BW perspective.

A season that consists only of BW conference matches is a losing season- and even that possibility is in limbo due to the Hawaii quarantine mandate as it could get pushed out longer than the end of August. It’s going to be an atypical season anyway so I won’t be disappointed too much in a cancellation. Feel sorry for Jolie and Brooke though. What a mess this pandemic has created.

While it's generous of the UH fans to decide that, the conference itself hasn't yet made the same determination. Right now I'd say there's a better chance WVB gets moved to spring, than cancelled outright, but as I say, the next two weeks should give us more info. I am disappointed that Helvig has left the conference though. I enjoyed watching her play and her departure weakens the BW.

The restrictions for quarantine take effect until 9/1 and I’m pretty sure that includes travel restrictions to the islands from some international countries. Can’t play a season with no players and teams not willing to travel. That includes domestic travel as well. It’s a real mess. Mark my words there will be an announcement canceling fall sports due to the pandemic. Moving it to spring not an option. Too many variables and intangibles.

It’s not our (Hawaii fans) decision but we do have money invested (via our season ticket purchases). Not sure if Spring is a good option for some schools (like Hawaii) as there would be too many sports (Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Beach Volleyball) competing for court time but we’ll see what happens. Yes, Hanna is a huge loss for Hawai’i this season and quite possibly seasons after that.

Let’s hope Hanna returns. She was the future of our program and I know she loves the program.
This virus has really turned the world upside down

Serious Q: would the Blaisdell Center possibly be an option for spreading out men's and women's BB/ VB if the BWC votes to potentially move Fall sports to Spring? Assuming that by next year travel conditions and community-spread change, of course.
