South Carolina was in good shape before they lost both matches to LSU this weekend. I think it's Missouri's to loose. If they screw it up, Arkansas will probably get that third spot. TX A&M is in the mix too. Not sure who they still have left to play.

Does anyone besides Florida and Kentucky want to go to the NCAA Tournament? I have no idea how to determine who would even be 3rd in line? I want to say that ONE of these teams will get a bid, but who? Missouri/South Carolina/Arkansas/Tennessee A&M gets Missouri and Florida still and possibly a makeup vs. Kentucky, so they could play their way in, but losing at Georgia today, not sure that happens? Especially after the Morgan Christon injury... what happened to Christon? Don't think so. Omazic's injury ended that possibility. I think a 3rd SEC team needs at least one win over Florida or Kentucky, IMO. Arkansas, UT and Mizzou are all done with those two teams and couldn't get a victory. South Carolina has a win over Florida and possible makeup matches with UK. A&M has by far the best opportunity with all their toughest opponents ahead of them. But Carolina and A&M just aren't good enough to pull out enough victories. I would love for them to prove me wrong, but I just don't see it.

what happened to Christon? I am not sure exactly how it’s determined either but I’d think that a 3rd team will get in for sure and that would probably be Missouri, unless they get spanked in one of their final matches. Then, I’d say maybe South Carolina or Arkansas, if a 4th team gets in. I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on this, too. I wouldn't assume a third team gets in "for sure." The Big 12 only got two teams in 2018, and that was a 64-team field, not 48. Not saying that the SEC won't get a third (or even a fourth) team, but just because they normally get 4+, it doesn't mean they couldn't be limited to two this season.

Uhm anyone going to tell me exactly what happened to Christon? Stepped on a UGA player's foot and was helped to the bench. No weight on leg. Appeared they were looking at her knee. She didn't appear to be in a lot of pain, if that means anything.

SEC Player of the Week - Marlie Monserez, Florida
SEC Offensive Player of the Week - LSU's Taylor Bannister, a senior right side from Missouri City, Texas, averaged 5.88 points, 5.00 kills and 1.38 digs per set in the series win over South Carolina. Bannister recorded a match-high 25 kills on a season-high .345 hitting percentage along with six digs and four total blocks in the opening match on Saturday.
SEC Defensive Player of the Week - Florida's Lauren Dooley, a junior middle blocker from Plano, Texas, tallied 12 total blocks in the series win over No. 25 Missouri. Dooley had back-to-back match highs of six total blocks against the Tigers.
SEC Setter of the Week - Florida's Marlie Monserez, a junior from Windermere, Fla., registered 95 assists and helped the Gators post a .429 hitting percentage in the two wins over No. 25 Missouri. Monserez recorded her seventh double-double in the opening match with 56 assists and a career-high 20 digs. She then led her team to a .513 hitting percentage on Saturday, the best team hitting percentage for a match since 2019.
SEC Freshman of the Week - Kentucky's Madi Skinner, an outside hitter from Katy, Texas, hit .441 and averaged 3.58 points and 3.17 kills per set in the series win over Ole Miss. Skinner helped UK hit .402 Friday night with 10 kills on 15 swings for a personal attacking percentage of .533 in the match. She also logged in five total blocks over the two matches.

I don't want to take anything away from what Dooley did, or from what Bannister did... but Caesar and Hall had crazy-good offensive performances too. TBH, Thayer could have gotten defensive over Dooley lol. Dooley had 12 blocks and what, 5 kills? Thayer had 10 blocks and over 30 kills. These awards are just funny sometimes. Go Gators

Going to the Bayou to visit dman this weekend and watch our dd's start to close out their careers. Met dman and his crew of intense Woodlands dads at 14 yr old Colo Crossroads and we have maintained a friendship ever since. I'm looking forward to seeing my ole friend and watching our kids play the game they love (and we love).
Another reason I'm making the trip to the Red Stick goes back all the way to the club days. I need to keep dman from making his rounds with "friendly handshakes" for all the refs and linesmen. It worked like a charm during the club years but I'm hoping the college officials are above that.
Looking forward to a great weekend and some competitive matches!

Kinda crazy how quickly the years have gone by and we're coming in for a landing on this volleyball ride we got on. It all started on the old Prep Vball site with OBE, Plano Don and the crazy Ape! Friendships made for a lifetime over the years and glad to call you one of the best of them!! As far as the friendly handshakes...you know I always have an "offer they can't refuse" in my back pocket! See ya in a couple days!!

This is a very important week for UK/UF seeding and the at-large race for whoever can try to claim SEC#3. I wouldn't count Tennessee out just yet. The Volunteers theoretically could finish 9-3 in the Spring with 2 of those losses to Florida, along with winning TWICE against Missouri and splitting with Arkansas. I wonder if A&M will make up with Tennessee or Kentucky in the last week. Tennessee lost their Ole Miss series too, which would help their record but not their resume.
