Anybody else watching South Carolina - LSU? We have a good old fashioned protest. R1 is off the stand and at the scorer's table with the R2, both looking at rule books. Unfortunately, I missed the actual play in question. Any body know what happened? (Btw, the R1 showed Mendoza the rule and the discussion ended immediately) I caught the end of that situation. Not sure what the dispute was. I just saw R1 and R2 looking at the rule book, like wth? I'm watching on the ESPN app. For some reason there are no commentators - although the normal commentators probably would have had no clue about the dispute either. lolI have the second match on in the background while I am working. There are commentators for this one. But they sound like NPR show hosts. I am cracking up listening to them, while also feeling embarrassment for them. "Volleyball players sure do smile a lot." "So do softball players." "Yes, but volleyball players smile more..." OMG Then about Anwusi, "She was class president in HS." "Well that explains it--you have to have a great personality to be class president." WUT I won't even get started on their lack of understanding referee signals/calls, or correct volleyball terminology. People make fun of Tom Collette (mainly his high energy) who calls most/all of UF's matches, but he plays and KNOWS the game and is an outstanding commentator. Give me him any day over any other one. Fight me. |

The worst camera angles are still Bama, imo, but yeah, the production at SC leaves some things to be desired. I think the problem there, though, is the tight space in the gym.

LSU announced this afternoon that limited tailgating will be allowed for all outdoor sports the remainder of the Spring/Summer. One small step closer to normalcy....

This is actually my favorite angle to watch a match from. I always sit midway up with the center endline view when I go to a match. Mine as well. But only when I'm behind my team. I'm kind of digging not changing sides this club season. It's nice not having to reposition the camera after every set. |

I'm all for tailgating again, but those guidelines are comical. lol (Paraphrasing here): *You can tailgate with up to 15 people but only from the same household. lol *Masks are required beyond your little tailgate space. People will not do this and it's not really enforceable anyway. |
