Wisconsin has been waiting three years to play Stanford and Hentz again. They are looking for payback.

Wisconsin has been waiting three years to play Stanford and Hentz again. They are looking for payback. It’s to bad it won’t happen. I’ve been saying all year even with Plummer out and the losses that Stanford will be last team standing and they will

Clark and Hentz were the defensive specialists for Team USA in the World U18 tournament about 4 years ago. Clark was the starting libero, Hentz came in as a sub for Lanier/second OH.
Plummer was on that squad too as the Best Opposite of the tournament.

Tough to pick against Stanford but I think this Wisconsin team is special. They have a big block that really sets up their back court well. Their offense is going to have to be better than it was tonight but that's doable. Give me Wisconsin in 5. This will be an instant classic.

I'll go with Wisconsin because when I was in college, I had a discussion with a Chemistry major classmate who couldn't stop singing the praises of Wisconsin's chemical engineering program. This was in the 1980s when the only college rankings we had access to was the Gourman Report, which was a very mysterious ranking of the top universities by field of study. And yes, Wisconsin was #2 or #3 or something like that. I said, "Well, geeez, you love Wisconsin so much, why didn't you go to Wisconsin?" I can't remember his response.

Duello also on that team, plus Rettke and Hilley both enrolled in January and were working with Nelson and Carlini, so there's some continuity there. Not that I think any players want to beat Stanford just to avenge that loss, but it's a nice story line for a sportswriter should it happen.

Also the Stanford seniors deserve to win this one. Rettke and Haggerty still have a chance next year. Stanford seniors deserve nothing more than the WI seniors. Silly statement.
