I see Wisconsin being beating by Nebraska or Ohio state. They beat Purdue who's best player was gone. Minnesota without two starters.(I was told that) Otherwise they played teams who are a total of 29 and 71.

It’s a pun (“same day delivery”). Embarrassingly bad! Only works in print! Didn’t our two teams meet a few years ago in a fairly early round I the tournament? I seem to remember watching a low-res feed from the back-line camera angle. In my mind, the Huskies came from ahead to lose. If it wasn’t Minnesota, I apologize for cursing you under my breath these last several years. Yes! This was maybe 2008 or 2009. Washington came to the PAV and went up 2 sets to 0 in the second round. Harms then went off and had 29 kills (I think) and the Gophers won in 5. Washington started Vansant and another freshman at outside, Summer maybe? She went on to play beach I think. It was a super fun match, definitely a top 10 Gopher match for me!

She had an all-around beach game that I loved - if I recall correctly, she was a six-rotation OH (but we were running a 6-2 anyway) with great back-row defense who liked to hit angle and roll shots. She left the team to try her hand at pro beach ball. No relation to April Ross, as far as I could tell. I think she and Vansant were freshmen in 2011 or 2012, though. But your recollection is the same as mine, except that for you it must have been a thrilling victory and for me it was a slow-moving disaster.

Samedy is the 4th Gopher since 2015 to win the Big Ten POY. Maybe this will be the year it all comes together at the end and they win the program’s first Championship.

Is Minnesota winning the NC a realistic possibility?

Is Minnesota winning the NC a realistic possibility? Imo, they’ll be competitive if Rollins is passing well and Shaffmaster can get more out of her middles than they’ve gotten in the past. But I don’t think we’ve seen an NC level from them this season yet. But I won’t get against Hugh having a really good team.

Is Minnesota winning the NC a realistic possibility? They are the 3 seed, so yes. I don't think they're the best team, I don't think they have always played all that well. But, they have a great ability to win 5th sets. They have a thoroughbred in Samedy who can carry them plus high end talent on the left side. Their weaknesses seem to be consistent passing and struggles getting the middles involved.

I think Shaff's epiphany as of the last few matches is that the middle sets just had to come down, way down. Faster, shorter. High balling the middle, just isn't going to get it done at this level.

Depends on the middle. That's all Morgan needed (and probably didn't get often enough). I personally think teams tend to do two things with middles they shouldn't:
1) They run slides even when they don't run it well 2) They set too quickly to middles when a little more air would help
