I noticed on Jen Flynn Oldenburg's Facebook, one friend has a post to her: "Congrats? " Someone else has "liked" the "Congrats? " post. I wonder if there exists certain legal requirements which OSU has to get through before the announcement can be made.

The question mark was indeed because I had no clue when it would be official. I'm stoked for Ohio State getting a great coach AND human being to run the women's program!!

Her background suggests she might have a pretty good advantage in recruiting, especially in PA, IL, OH.

Even if she was a little down the list, still seems like a great hire. Here's hoping she doesn't steal away Pittsburgh recruits from the panthers .

I think she would have been a good hire for alot of programs but I am still surprised that she beat out the reported candidates. I don't care who you are, there will be a learning curve. But the good news is their recruiting pipeline is great and I would bet she will be able to get these girls playing at a high level in short order.

Did she beat them out, or did the ones ahead of her turn TOSU down? They had 4 candidates on campus throughout the process I would imagine she beat out some while she probably wasn't the 1st offer. If I had to guess DBK would have been a tough get money wise. I am not saying OSU is cheap but it would have taken alot to get DBK. Jen would have been a much easier deal.

How about her former coach at OSU Jim Stone being hired as an assistant coach? That would be the start of a great staff.
