Wisconsin fans need to settle themselves down just a bit...
First, Robinson will win several FOW the week honors. This is the first week and someone else also had a good week, so this award for Shaffmaster isn't about Robinson not being worthy. Robinson is special, and was super fun to watch all weekend.
Second, maybe the voters looked at the crap passes that Shaffmaster was getting and thought, "gee, she did something pretty good with that and made her team better. She deserves to be recognized for that." And maybe they thought that Robinson was playing with 1st team AA setter, and two other AA hitters and had pretty great passing, and so her job, while incredibly impressive, was slightly easier than Shaffmater's.
Third, Minnesota ran a 6-2 for three total rotations in 2 sets all weekend, so lets calm down about her not running a 5-1.
Fourth, if you watched the Minnesota matchs, you will see that at least two sets Shaffmaster won those sets for Minnesota behind her serve. Without Shaffmaster, Minnesota at least looses sets, if not a match. Without Robinson, Wisconsin still sweeps, at worst Purdue wins a half dozen more points.
Finally, a Badger player not winning award, is not calling them terrible or unworthy. It just means someone else also had a good week.
