For all the plaudits for Purdue's defense, they're second-to-last in the Big Ten in opponent hitting percentage. Losing both middles doesn't seem to be accounted for. And even with SOS, other teams have played two top opponents too. And Illinois did a better job defending Iowa than Purdue did - Indiana was more comparable defensively. Purdue's block is non-existent

This weekend's matches between Michigan and Purdue could very well set the dividing line between who makes the tournament from the B1G and who doesn't. It's a critical machup, and Michigan is going to be starting in a hole.

no but that’s the second time you’ve asked me if I’m friends with a player that I post that I liked on here. So I’ll clear the air. I’m not friends with any major d1 women’s volleyball player so you can stop asking me if I’m friends with someone when I post praise about them on here. Thanks Calm down, I'm clearly teasing. I don't know what you could have possibly seen in four losses (3 of which were sweeps and 2 of which she played in a 6-2) that makes you think she's above Hames right now. And I'm no Hames fan. Cullen is certainly more talented than Hames, and would make Nebraska better.

If we were going off of talent alone I think Hames falls down either further. But adding in experience, leadership and playing at a high-level, I don't buy Cullen over Hames yet. She has played in a 6-1 in exactly two NCAA matches.

Did we forget that Purdue played Baylor their last time out and got blown out 98-69? I'd like to, yes. No where near the same teams on either side...so this isn't a relevant point.

I'll amend: two-third of Purdue's matches were against Wisconsin and Minnesota! Rutgers (freaking Rutgers) played Wisconsin and Nebraska and is ahead of Purdue. Illinois has 2/3 same opponents (and played Penn St. shorthanded in their last set) and is almost 20 points ahead. At some point, you can't just keep repeating that someone is an amazing defensive team when they continually let opponents kill the ball against them efficiently (and it's not like the claim is that it's because they're a weak serving team).

Purdue is a legit team...there is a lot of Volley to be played yet...BUT, I surely see B1G as the overwhelming dominant conference and it isn't close. I would put Purdue vs Wash, vs Florida, vs BYU, vs ND, vs Louisville, etc. I would love to see a Purdue vs Baylor, as that would be an excellent match. 2021 Purdue vs. Baylor right? Because we saw that match up in 2019 and I didn't care for the result 😑 Hey, if you have access to a time machine, I would be happy to go back and watch that game, make some bets & play some lottery & what not...fair trade. But otherwise, yeah, 2021.

No. Rutgers didn't play Nebraska, it is this week's game.
