Since she has been hitting off two feet from what I understand, I would guess more on the right. I don't think they will have their back court down enough to run a type of three middle system, even though the talents of the middles themselves may make that an option. Middles seem to get shafted in the UA match because the first contact usually stinks and the setter connection isn't there enough to do anything but chuck the ball out to the left in transition. So true. I hope the passing is better this year, because there a few super experienced six-rotation outsides in Landfair, Oglivie, and Mruzik. I enjoyed watching Robinson with the USA U18 team (which was a darn good passing squad). There has been discussion about her "undersized" stature at 6-2, but Devyn's athleticism effectively negates that. Seeing all her USA teammates on different sides of the net is going to give me vertigo, but I hope Devyn gets some good looks.

Really looking forward to this match. Bummed that they moved it from the tourney - I enjoyed seeing it live every year. As for Wisconsin, Robinson is enrolling in January, so I predict she'll make an early impact. I wonder if they'll have her playing in the middle or on the right. How do we watch the match It will be streaming on FloVolleyball, which requires a paid subscription.

I have to say, I never really enjoy the AAU match. As Rainbow says, the lack of preparation and familiarity of the players lead to bad passing and simple offenses, usually playing out of system. I wonder if the later date means there is more preparation this year, though? Or was the change just to take the pressure off the students prior to the holiday break (which would be a pretty good reason).

The UA AA match always reminds me of the Pro Bowl. Nobody wants to get a torn ACL or a high ankle sprain in an exhibition match before they even get to college.

Upon listing all the Big Ten recruits in the UA match, I’d put an asterisk next to the uncommitted Sophie Fischer, who has visited oodles of Big Ten schools and has left all my private message constituents in a tizzy. I didn’t think we’d have to wait this long.

Don't they always introduce themselves and name the school they're going to? That would be one hell of an announcement on Fischer's part if she does. '

I don’t know who is going to win it, but I know it will be the best conference in the country, again!

I didn’t think we’d have to wait this long. And the Big Ten school that wins the Sophie Fischer sweepstakes is...Kentucky? Wait a second. Who's that? Did I forget to preview them? I'm going to baton pass the Sophie Fischer discussion to The Way Too Early 2020 SEC Thread, where all the juicy gossip lives. Someone in there knows Stephen Colbert.

Another thing: Congrats to the first Big Ten team to release their 2020 roster, Michigan State! This honor comes with a prize of...well, nothing. I'll talk about the Green and White for a bit. How's that? Thanks to the investigative journalism of abcd098 on the D1 Transfers Thread, we find that backup DS Hannah Grant is no longer listed on the Michigan State roster. There's some speculation that Grant will take I-96 southward to Ann Arbor and transfer to the Maize and Blue. We shall see. Celia Cullen is officially enrolled (early) at MSU. Her journey to the starting setter role starts now.

I wonder if Grant’s lack of any playing time this season had to do with this transfer. Did the coaching staff know from the start? Does she have to sit out a year if she goes to U of M if she redshirted her first season at MSU?

There’s a lot of options at the pins for MSU. We’ll see what they do with the backcourt next to Cox.
