I think a recent history search would doubt that the Northern Lights connection has worked out very well for the Hawks. Unfortunate but true. My hope is like others have said previously is that we dominate recruiting within the state, and keep some of the best Iowa kids home Iowa has also had a Minnesota pipeline in Northern Lights (albeit with mixed success) that he might want to keep going. Bingo! |

My hope is like others have said previously is that we dominate recruiting within the state, and keep some of the best Iowa kids home #HawkeyeState Iowa has also had a Minnesota pipeline in Northern Lights (albeit with mixed success) that he might want to keep going. Well I didn’t really follow the team but I thought that Orr was a very good setter for them. It looks Hanson and Hinkle saw some minutes for them this year. Did Reints play regularly before this season? I assume Sheehan was a bust. |

Ortega was/is in the portal so had expected this to be about her. Interesting. Thanks for the tip. Also am seeing the roster has been updated: hawkeyesports.com/sports/wvball/roster/ Those still listed: Black, Dennis, Onabanjo, Hinkle, Ortega, Schmidt, VanderWeide Lots of holes to fill. This will be quite interesting. Hoping Melby is still committed. Very talented OH. |

Is Ortega still planning on leaving?
Edit: And Schmidt listed as a sophomore on the new roster, and pretty sure she should be a senior.

Not sure about Ortega. Would be great if she did stay from continuity standpoint.
I also noticed that about Schmidt being listed as a sophomore and looks like it is now corrected to accurately show her as a senior.
And (wait for it): Amiya Jones is now listed!! If that signifies her staying for a super senior season, that would sure be HUGE for the Hawks! Hmmm...

It was the best server part that threw me off 😂 lol That part was tough. Splitt’s lefty jump top was deadly but also rarely used in the 5-2 (which… questionable choice in my opinion). |
