Don't see it posted anywhere on here but knew y'all would like some good news. Lauren Brobst ('17 I think) is the head coach of Sioux City Bishop Heelan (as of last season) Saw they're playing Skutt this fall and it reminded me to check if its ever been posted They played last year, straight blood bath....Skutt played starters for a set, then let JV play next 2. Heelan was once a powerhouse in Iowa volleyball but those days are gone. Maybe Lauren can turn program around? 25-5, 25-15 & 25-17 It's going to be the same this year. Skutt's the top team in the nation lol She probably doesn't have a lot to work with. Enrollment is terribly down, some kids that have transferred out to Dakota Valley (to play for former HC Mary Miller) or Sergeant Bluff (won the 4A title last year) |

So sad to see that Brie, Griere and Halle are no longer listed on the Iowa roster. Crushed about Orr, loved her game so much. Completely agree. So immensely talented. When you add that she essentially ended her career being out due to injury for a signifiant portion of last season AND that she will not get the opportunity to lead her team in their beautiful new arena...devastated. You have been such an impactful contributor to the Hawkeye volleyball program, Brie. We honor you! |

The loss of the fall season is going to impact seniors more than anyone else (which is why they've been given the scholarship exemption for fall 2021), especially those seniors who are graduating early or already have post-volleyball plans in place. |

So is it known that those three are skipping the spring Big Ten/NCAA season, and if so why? Professional opportunities?

I don't know the reason why but I do believe that a couple of them enrolled early and their scholarships could have expired. It could be a simple as graduating and moving on.
