There's mutual interest but we'll see if it goes anywhere. Oh man it looks like Abbey Hayes to Creighton. I heard Iowa was in the mix big with her. She kept blowing up so a top 20 team won out it seems. Commitments starting to happen so hopefully that helps the Hawkeyes. Not much of a surprise...think she's been leaning that direction for a while

Weve got to start getting the states best to stay home! They are already Hawkeyes by birth, let’s keep ‘em here!

The top 1-2 Iowa kids always get swept up by the top 20 programs. Looks like Iowa was at least in the mix to the end with Hayes. Win a little more and I think they finally break through with a top Iowa kid. I’ve heard several club coaches and players really like the culture being established at Iowa.

Looks like they're having fun. Saw some group pics as well and still not seeing Vesty in them. Bummer for her to be missing out on some bonding time with her new teammates but obviously a very different deal to get to IC all the way from NZ.

Giving recruits a 15 minute window to accept an offer is not cool. I get that’s a sign of the times but that’s a move in the wrong direction.

You hear about it quite a bit. Probably only a handful of programs that can get away with it & Iowa certainly isn't one of them. I have too many follow up questions to know where to begin🤯

I’ve heard from multiple coaches that this is completely not true. It does bring up interesting scenarios though. If a coach was getting recruits to commit by giving them a 15 min window, I would bet most coaches would do it. But I would also bet that this strategy would fail very badly and leave them with much lower level recruits in the end.

I’ve heard from multiple coaches that this is completely not true. Which coaches? Not fellow B1G coaches.

Giving recruits a 15 minute window to accept an offer is not cool. I get that’s a sign of the times but that’s a move in the wrong direction. Where did this comment/statement come from? Seems highly counterproductive, thus not very common, IMO. When it does occur, I suspect it is after an extended period of indecision by the recruit. The coach is then ready to move on. I have heard of coaches telling recruits that they had 1 scholarship available for their position with 2 or more prospects. Telling prospects the first one that commits gets the scholarship. I dislike high pressure sale pitches. Generally I walk away. Tough position to put a 16 yr old in. But inevitable to some degree, it's their decision to make with limited life experiences.

My kid was a 2022 and I remember there was a rumor among her "fellow" recruits in town that two girls from the same club team got an offer from the same program and they were told whoever says yes first gets the spot. We were just floored by that. She finally just asked one of the girls if it was true, the girl said "no, I talked to their assistant coach and then never talked to the program again." Her teammate is on that team now. Just know that sometimes, these crazy recruiting strategies (like pinning two players who are friends vs each other and giving ridiculous time limits) do get exaggerated sometimes. Do these things sometimes happen? Sure, they do but I am not sure it's all that common. And it's probably the same few coaches who do it

Makes no sense. It would only work for a Nebraska/Texas. I hear silly rumors like this often and they almost all are bogus.
