6 for senior day includes Darling Darling apparently giving up 2 seasons of eligibility. Davis apparently staying for at least one more of her 2 remaining seasons of eligibility. Opens up lot of spots for some quality transfers. Middles and DS/liberos, please! |

Played better but same old story. Serve receive & setting. For fun (not fun), I started tracking points that Iowa would have likely won if we would have had a more accurate/better set to give our hitters a solid chance to score. It was staggering. So, as frustrating as that was to do, it also gave me a bit of hope that if we can improve in the accuracy of sets next season, we could truly have some better results...it was a LOT of points! Would sure love to see Meitzler arriving on campus early so she could get a spring season of matches and practice under her belt before being tossed into the fire next fall. |

It seems like the team has went backwards as the season has progressed. |

Location of sets really hurt us today. Don’t remember the set, but we were up 2 or 3 and had three really poor sets in a row by Ortega and it just took the wind out of our sails. I think we have to get an experienced setter in the portal to help Mateo and Meitzler settle in—even if a 1 and done. Going into the BIG season with Mateo and a true freshman would be scary. |

I really like this Iowa staff. I hope they beat somebody next week. I feel the same way. Coach Barnes is engaging, genuine, and in coaching for the right reasons. I sure hope the hard work turns the tide in years to come. |

I talked to the parent of a player last week whose daughter transferred into the program. She said the team loves working together and still have a good attitude and love the staff. Her daughter’s comment was that the worst day at Iowa was better than the best day at her old school.
