Kenna Sauer a new follow for Coach Yale. Seems like she's been playing forever.

In the Marquette thread, it sounds like the Hawks will play a spring match against them at University of Dubuque.

Great to see updated roster. Excited for the spring and next fall, especially to see what the new talent can bring to the team and court...including Davis (had to be so hard for her to sit out her first year in IC). They have Lombardi listed on here as attending Valley HS instead of DM Christian, just like they did on the Twitter announcement. Hope that get that corrected here soon, too...and it lists her as being 6' 2" on her profile page. I'm sure she would love if that were the case! And must admit, sure is tough to not see Amiya Jones' name listed here. That will be such a huge hole to fill in so many ways. Will be interesting to see what sort of spring schedule they put together this year. Will be an important few months together for this team.

When do Hawk fans truly believe their squad will advance to the NCAA tournament?

I wish I knew--right now the team trended in the right direction at the end of the season. There is a lot of enthusiasm and momentum with the new coaching staff and this team. I think we all know it is a process, so baby steps. Let's make more progress this year.

Finally getting some looks on spring practices via Iowa Volleyball Instagram story. Seeing Onabanjo blocking in the middle with Ortega blocking front row. Also got a glimpse of new player Caitlan Buettner. All around good looks from the Hawks! Hopefully we get some more glimpses soon!

Great article about Olivia and love to see the focus on talent from the state of Iowa joining the program. I will say that I'm not sure how Harlei Cole and Amanda Darling may feel about this quote from the article: "With the departure of senior libero Mari Hinkle, who ended last season ninth in the Big Ten with 4.01 digs per set, it will be up to Olivia Lombardi and sophomore libero Sydney Dennis to take over the back row in 2023."

It will be interesting to see who emerges from the Libero group. Dennis looked solid late in the year. Darling led the nation in digs at Niagra but she redshirted last year it appears. Cole was really good in high school.
Also, Buettner looked really impressive in that instagram video. Nice block!

I don’t know. They beat both Michigan teams with Hinkle out and Dennis at Libero. She played more consistent, especially in serve receive. Hinkle hurt the team in serve receive, especially the second half of the season. Also, only 1 middle graduates. That would be Jones. Although at times she played like 2 middles. The other middle was the 6-8 McSweeney. She was very good offensively. But overall lots of questions to be answered for the 2023 team.

The knee injury really affected Hinkle's movement toward the end of the season & her serve receive suffered because of it. Dennis was inconsistent the first half of the season then played well towards the end, can she continue the upward trend? Can Davis bounce back from her injury & provide a offensive or blocking threat in the middle? Will Toy stay at middle if Black struggles on the right? Will they get any offense from the OH position? Setting is a question mark as well for me which leads what type of offense they run. Worden will not have played in over a year, can she play her way into the conversation at OH? As you mentioned, many questions.
