She served as an Assistant Coach at Illinois for nine seasons and helped lead Illinois to the national championship match in 2011. Good hire. Congrats, Jen. Yeah. I missed that. With nine years as an assistant at Illinois I would not consider her hire a desperation hire based upon no experience. Good luck.

Jen is a tremendous human and great coach. I honestly think this might be the best hire of the off-season so far and much more than I expected from tOSU.

I like her, think she can do well, but this is more than you expected?? This hire took some out-of-the-box thinking and brings back someone who is very well respected in the volleyball community (not to mention successful and an alum). It will be great to see Jen on a college sideline again.

There were people they targeted who checked those boxes AND have exceptional records as college HEAD coaches.

I still don’t believe, and have been offered no concrete information, that Dan Fischer was ever offered the position. You’re correct, he was not.

There were people they targeted who checked those boxes AND have exceptional records as college HEAD coaches. Given how the interviews for the other people who were in the pool went, it just sounds like a giant cluster. Lots of egos that did not settle well with the administration. So, given they passed on all four people they initially interviewed, this far surpasses where I thought they would end up.
