I think any fan or follower of this program needs to give the staff 2-3 seasons to see what they can do. A long leash in the Big Ten to get results - maybe? It's needed. Given the state of the team and their season when the new staff arrived, they have their work cut out for them. Not even a week in the spring before training was shut down and now their season cancelled. The athletes have so much untapped potential and need reps in the gym, not to mention a complete culture 180 from the previous staff. Key local recruits from the last 5 years have been missed or mishandled, so the team would likely be in a much different place talent and ranking wise compared to now. Grant it, nothing can teach a kid how to compete in the Big Ten unit they're surrounded in a match by other Big Ten athletes, but this team doesn't have that advantage right now. From playing time to a losing season, the girls may not know what it's like to be in a gym the competes AND executes at the level a Nebraska or Wisconsin does. Truly hoping and supporting this new staff in the battles and adventures ahead of them!

Most staffs need 2-3 years to turn things around because they need to recruit and attract top talent, they don’t

A lot of uncertainty related to eligibility and how the scholie count will affect recruiting too.

With the NCAA reducing the tournament to only 16 at-large selections for this spring, it looks like the tournament drought will grow to 4 years. I think this team will improve from the past few years, but this pretty much means you need to be a top 25 team or just outside of it to make the tournament as an at-large. With a new coach, younger players, and probably playing mostly B1G teams, I don't have much confidence that this team ends up ranked at the end of the year.

Forgot to mention that Zaria Ragler, 6’1 MB out of Maryland committed to the Buckeyes this week adding to the ‘22 class.
Athletic, versatile middle who hits with range and has great shoulder rotation. Quick twitched and disciplined block. I believe touches 10’6 these days as well for those who care about that stuff. Another great add imo.
I believe the opportunity is there over the next handful of years for Jen to push this program into the upper echelon. Brandewie, Rothe, and Chicoine seem to be some of the big names to watch on the recruiting front here.
