Why are these people such selfish cowards? Bump I think the most likely answer is that COVID vaccine hesitancy has been subsumed by the broader culture war just like everything else in American society.

I would just like to point out that 1% of the population would have been 3,280,000 dead. Is that really where we want to draw the line? But how many people had their rights stolen away from them by being forced to wear a mask against their will??
How many have been fear mongered by the mainstream media into getting a vaccine that is unproven and they don't need??

I remember pointing that out more than a year ago, when people were saying "this only kills 1% of the people who get it". I was appalled. As if 3M lives is a negligible number. Just remember 3,000 lives on 9/11 was enough to justify 500K+ deaths in Afghanistan and upwards of a million in Iraq. But apparently 600K lives isn't enough to justify closing restaurants for a couple of months. Those 600k were mostly just really old people that were going to die within <12mo of their death date, or fat/diabetic people who made poor life decisions to get into that condition, anyway.
Personal responsibility.

Another random thought that doesn't belong here: Why don't women ever pull their hands on the block? Men do it all the time. My daughter got tooled high hands once and told me right afterwards that she knew the hitter was going high hands and wanted to pull her hands but thought it would be worse if she was wrong because her coach would ream her out. I saw Emily Londot execute that for a point in a game this year and I was floored. It's the only instance I can recall seeing someone do that.

How many have been fear mongered by the mainstream media into getting a vaccine that is unproven and they don't need?? You do not have a right to not wear a mask. That's actually been determined by the Supreme Court previously. Where an individual's action jeopardizes the health/well-being of a community, the individual cannot claim a right to liberty. As for unproven vaccines people don't need, glad you didn't get it bad, maybe have your lungs bronchial tubes turn to jello, get a fever of 105, or get told there's no room at the hospital for you because you're too old and there are younger people more likely to live. That's not an issue of left or right. It's an issue of understanding civic responsibility. Or if you know old people, ask them about the polio vaccination which was unproven. Smallpox, too. You won't though. I'd also wager money you're a Trump voter living in an all-Republican rural area.

"I put a wink! It's clearly sarcasm!"
The winks on VT always read creepy, not sarcastic to me... especially after considering the few posters who consistently use them.

lol guys - chill the F out. Did you really not see the winking emoji? My buddy loved Stephen Colbert’s old show. I explained it was a carefully crafted mock of Bill O’Reilly. You guys freaking out reminded me of my buddy. Cheers

Was about to make my first international flight back to the US this weekend, but with the current condition with the Delta variant combined with the new 21 days quarantine requirement in China...decided to cancel my trip.
