Yes, #3 is the the huge problem. If the unvaccinated people keep providing themselves as a safe reservoir for the virus to keep mutating in, it will eventually change its lockpicks enough that it will be able to pick the locks of the vaccinated people. I mean, they keep saying this. And the vaccines still keep beating the variants that show up.

Space shuttle kept surviving pieces of frozen foam breaking off of the main tank. Until it didn't.
Florida condo remained standing despite structural problems. Until it didn't.
This is a classic safety error -- "normalizing" warning signs.

At least Pfizer and Mederna 2 shots have held off variants. Which gets back to my question on when/if J&J people will need to get a 2nd shot (either Pfizer/Mederna) in order to better protect against variants.

Or is the point of this just that we should act afraid?

Pay attention to the warning signs, rather than ignoring them. Unfortunately, we live in a country where we can't even agree that people shouldn't allowed to walk around with AR-15s, so we're not likely to agree on mandatory vaccinations.

Well zero state governments, from the most conservative to the most liberal, agree with you on mandatory vaccinations. While states have extremely disparate gun laws, mandatory COVID vaccinations seem to be something almost everybody (except you I guess) agrees on.

Where did you see me say I thought states should implement vaccine mandates?

Where did you see me say I thought states should implement vaccine mandates? Multiple people asked ‘so what’s the solution’. And your response brought up mandatory vaccinations. So what’s the solution?

And your response brought up mandatory vaccinations. So what’s the solution? I don't know. Sh*t, if I had the solution I would be out there calling the governor or something. Mandatory vaccinations sounds like a good idea, until you think about the history of governments conducting medical experiments on "disposable" people, like the Nazis did, or like the Tuskegee syphilis experiment. Or like the forced sterilizations of the eugenics movement in the first half of the 20th century. People should have a say in the medical treatment on their bodies. But this has to be balanced with social interest. "Typhoid Mary" Mallon was eventually imprisoned because even though she was a carrier for typhoid she simply refused to stop working as a cook. But dismissing the problem because this particular variant doesn't seem to have 100% cracked the vaccination lock yet is stupid.

Do you think the Government is going to do something that nefarious as to conduct experiments like that again? I saw that episode of Drunk History with Typhoid Mary. Good stuff. 😁
