I dunno about the local event but the Tour of Texas Pre Qualified event that TAV played in (and went undefeated) was not Houston Skyline (with Skinner, Rutherford, et al.) but the one out of Dallas that A. Smith went to. I will say this though- if TAV shows up to triple crown still playing Kate Lang at OH, they are NOT my pick to make the final. Ok so I watched that tour of Texas match with Tav and *Dallas* Skyline (not the same as that stacked Houston Skyline team). Re Kate Lang, the lineup right is that they are still running a 6-2 but Lang is setting in the back and playing opposite when in the front row. This is because A. Smith is not playing in the middle (injured?) and they moved Kjolhede from opposite to the middle. This isn't quite what I thought when n00b posted about Lang (I thought either Flickinger or Wenaas were out on the LS and TAV was running a 5-1 with Yap). I thought wenaas didn’t play with this age group. Doesn’t TAV have Williams on the OH? And what about Florida recruit okkamor (spelling), couldn’t she fill in for middle since TAV usually runs 3 middles

But there is a carve out for 18's that extends the eligibility that isn't afforded to the younger age groups. Williams is out with an ACL tear. Okammor is playing. TAV no longer has Annabelle Smith (moved to Dallas Skyline). There was an error in my original comment. I mean to say L. Smith wasn't playing middle (injured?).

Let's be honest here. We're all going to Triple Crown for the BBQ. Q39 and Joe's, here I come!

I don’t really understand why they’re sticking with the 6-2 given they only have 5 healthy attackers.

I haven't watched many years, but it seems like their teams always run a 6-2.

If only Joe's or any of the other great BBQ places in KC were at Bartle (but they are not) - otherwise not all that convenient. I went to this tournament last year and plan to go again this year - it is such a great tournament to see in person. The highlight in February from an otherwise crappy weather month in KC.

I mean, weenas, flickinger, and ndiaye are a formidable trio, but can tav recover from losing both smiths and Williams? (Assuming smith and Williams are out for the season?). Those don’t seem like easy pieces to replace

I only watch their games if my niece is in the same tourney, or if they are in a final game at GJNC. From what I have seen, they like to keep setters/middles together.

They'd always had seven Power 5 attackers, so it made sense. Now they're down to 5.

I don't know anything about this Triple Crown business, but I'm curious if hansolo and @firstjedi ever interacted and how that went down. In A New Hope, Han was responsible for firing at Vader's spacecraft, spinning him off-course so that Luke could blow up the Death Star. And then in Empire Strikes Back, Vader beat Han and co. to Cloud City, leading to the capturing and carbonite-freezing of Han. I think those were the only two times they actually interacted. I know that's not what you meant, but I couldn't resist. Don't forget that I also tortured him. Whether I knew he would be my future son-in-law or not is immaterial. I would have tortured him either way.

But I am getting to the idea that they don't change their system?

First look at Coast 18's this year....they need to settle on a setting lineup before they roll into Triple Crown. They have a deep roster and I'm sure Ozhan is trying to get everyone playing time, but the difference in tempo between the 3 setters is noticeable and I can't imagine it's very good for offensive consistency. I've see some 5-1 with Wilson, some 6-2's with Wilson setting front row (weird) and either Adams or Yu setting back row, I've seen 6-2 with Adams and Yu..... wholly, way too many sets to the OH fall low and inside from Adams and Yu, which has been a criticism of mine for a while now.
This team also has a lot of hitters on it. I imagine going 5-1 isn't going to please everyone BUT this team needs to figure out a way to keep both Lougeay and Allen (who split time at libero today) on the floor as much as possible.

Finals Prediction: 18 Open: TAV v. Coast 17 Open: TStreet v. A5 I know...really going out on a limb here lol. Sleeper: 18 Open: Mintonette v. Munciana 17 Open: Sunshine v. Coast Sting beat A5 Jing this past weekend in Indy. A5 are beyond talented but they look uninterested and lazy. They SHOULD be #1 but I don't know after seeing them play several times

For the second week in a row, Sting beat A5 Jing who also lost at NLQ to OTVA 17 Felix. Northern Lights took 17 open with OT taking 2nd and Sting taking 3rd.
