Russia is resuming their pro leagues and allowing foreign players into the country: Russia allows foreign athletes entry as coronavirus cases pass 280,000MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Russian government said on Sunday it would allow foreign athletes competing in its domestic sports leagues to enter the country as the number of cases of the novel coronavirus passed 280,000. Russia closed its borders in March to foreigners and grounded international flights, except those repatriating Russians or returning foreign nationals to their country of origin, in a bid to stem the spread of the virus. The government said athletes and coaches under contract with a Russian sports organisation would be put under medical observation and obliged to spend two weeks in quarantine upon their return to the country. “The decision will help professional sports organisations, including the soccer clubs in the Russian Premier League, to resume training after the easing of measures linked to the spread of the coronavirus,” the government said in a statement. The Russian Football Union said on Friday the country’s top professional soccer league would resume matches on June 21 after having suspended the season in mid-March because of the coronavirus. www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-russia-cases-idUSKBN22T068

That remains to be seen. I imagine there is also an uneven distribution of cases throughout the country (it's obviously a huge country spanning many timezones), with the heaviest hit area being Moscow.

A turkish fan wanted me to post this regarding the Sherridan discussion. They can’t post at this site because VT takes a hell lot of time for approval lol: — Hi I've been trying to join the conversations in volleytalk but it takes ages for them to approve my account, I was curious if you could quote my message to them, it's the one in 2020-21 pro seasons thread; I wanted to say something about the Atkinson conversation volleytalk.proboards.c…-overseas-leagues?page=21I put here what I would say if I could post right now in the forum: ''In Turkey, we love Sherridan Atkinson, especially Nilufer district in Bursa obviously. She is really underrated, but very dominant and has a great attitude on court and always a fighter. I don't see how someone can say she is 1000% not ahead of her when they probably barely have seen her. I think the US users in general tend to know a bit more about Italian league players but what I really wanted to say was: just because someone did or did not make the current NTs doesn't mean they are not good or not talented or that the players that did make it are in fact better. There is many examples of players that are great not playing for their NTs, Neriman might be the best Turkish OH right now and is a great example. Another one, Opp Meryem Boz who single-handedly got Turkey the Olympic spot probably was not listed in the NT either for years until recently and was a better fit than all previous options since Darnel. I'm Turkish so I gave you local examples but there is many more from all countries. This way of looking is the Karch conservative way imo and many other coaches are like this but imo any player that plays well at any given time should be given time if they fit the team, just because a player has a great past doesn't mean they're always the best option or that other players can't get ahead of them. This is the reason many youngsters fail to become the next best thing. I can't say one or the other is for sure better, I liked Cuttino when she was in form as well. But to me besides probably Annie Drews and Jordan Thompson (she will play as OH now also) there isn't anyone 1000% better than Sherridan right now for USA imo. Sherridan is all positive vibes, I'm here for her rise. Nilufer put together a great team for next season. Just wanted to say this.'' You can quote my name and say its me from the forum, just really wanted to add this ahaha

Some people here may not consider her as an up and coming because she hasn’t been part of the NT pool... yet. Nilufer club as mentioned formed a pretty good team. They can end up as upper mid level team behind the big 3.

She will battle it with Durr to get the starting spot. Hopefully, she won’t get the same fate as Natalie Hagglund.

Where is JWO going? Still playing overseas or will just train at the NT gym?

is this the best team a NT libero has been on recently? Dresdner ended this past season in 4th in the German league. Justine Wong-Orantes's team (Schwerin) won the league, although she wasn't a consistent starter.

Not too shabby for a fresh out of college libero.

There’s a rumor that Jenna Gray will follow Hentz in Dresden.
