So in random news of the day..... Gibbemeyer has signed with a Swedish team (the article is behind a paywall) Hylte/Halmstad which is the same club that Hanna Hellvig is at. So no AU? Ah. Her fiance/boyfriend is the coach of the team.... Makes sense. She will be back for AU

RJP's team is playing an online game right now playing against Jalisa Johnson's team. On Facebook's TopVolley2.0 page. Pretty cool.

From an article I read she says it is "too risky" to be playing currently?? Although from the looks of it, every single american overseas seem to be so thankful they are out of this %*$# show! lol She's also teaching a 3rd or 4th grade class. here's hoping she hops to Puerto Rico in february?? If she doesn't show there or sign overseas for a half season, I think her future is dead. Athletes Unlimited is a possibility. I have not seen this posted before, but Leah Edmond signed with Athletes Unlimited. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJT6r95hddr

Another good get for AU. Really exciting this is a thing now, we will probably be seeing a lot more good college players staying in the US to play in coming years. I’m excited to see these Americans who aren’t quite good enough for the nt yet all play together after watching them in their college careers. Maybe AU is the first step to a better developmental program to feed the nt

Wasn’t sure where to ask this but I guess here would be a good place. Has Larson ever played in serie A1 and if so when and where? I didn’t start really following pro until recently ( 2018 ish ) and I’ve seen she played at dinamo Kazan with gamova, eczacıbaşı, Shanghai, but I was wondering if she was ever in the Italian league ?

Larson played her first pro season in Purto Rico after her graduation from Nebraska. After that, she spent five seasons in Kazan, then five seasons in Eczacibasi, and two seasons in Shanghai so far.

Wow interesting, ik the Italian league is currently considered the toughest at least that’s what’s commonly said on here, so why hasn’t she ever played ? Doesn’t anyone know if there’s a reason she hasn’t tried Italy yet?

Teams are willing to play for Larson. She wins wherever she goes and has been a top 5 outside for a long long time. She does everything well.

I know that some Italian teams wanted to sign Larson at the beginning of her professional career but she was already making very good money in Kazan.
Also back then Italian League was down while Kazan had Gamova and was one of the best teams in Europe.

I just assumed that the Italian league would have the most money because that would be a logical explanation as to why they are overall the best league but I guess not? Can Italian teams not afford Larson the way eczabsci could?

I just assumed that the Italian league would have the most money because that would be a logical explanation as to why they are overall the best league but I guess not? Can Italian teams not afford Larson the way eczabsci could? Almost all the Italian clubs pay good money (some more than others) and that's why the average level of the league is very high. But they cannot afford top salaries (Larson, Zhu, Kim, Boskovic, etc.). That’s basically the reason why Paola Egonu is tranferring to Turkey. Conegliano cannot match the 1 million € offer that Fenerbahçe made her. If Paola wants to stay in Italy, she’ll have to settle for earning much less money, compared to the money she would earn in Turkey.
