Idk about all but certainly win the Midwest bid... so many people are traveling for the avpnext tournaments now I wouldn’t even consider them “regional.” If you’re talking about the tournament March 14, Lotman and Partain would be my pick and most people’s pick to win. Webber has main draw level talent. Luers does not. Webber is MD talent, will be consistently there this year, Burik makes the most sense only for points. Prefer VDM defensively, edge to Mark offensively but very close. Not close at all. In Burik's last 19 AVPs (last 3 years) he has won a MD match in 13, had 23 main draw wins and beaten 7 regular MD teams In Vandermeer's last 18 (last 3 years) he has won a MD match in 5, had 5 MD wins and beaten 2 regular MD teams

Vandermeer is a hell of a player especially given his height. However, given his height deficiency, if Vandermeer is slightly off, anybody can beat him, which is why he’s already hit his peak, and probably what happened in Ohio. It’s also a good demonstration of why Burik is a much better pickup for Webber. Burik plays a few smaller events as well, and I can’t remember the last time he laid an egg like that. Vandermeer also laid an egg at big shots last year, taking 9th in a significantly weaker field, so this isn’t necessarily out of character.

VDM didn’t play big shots... Also Burik lost first round in NYC qualifier.

I'll give Burik edge for size and experience but he's the kind of partner you don't keep long, Webber uses him then moves on.

I'll give Burik edge for size and experience but he's the kind of partner you don't keep long, Webber uses him then moves on. Other than size, what indication is there that Webber is going to be the kind of player that has the option to take or leave a guy like Mark - who is much better than Webber right now. Im not a believer in VDM at all, but would players like Ian Satterfield, Avery Drost or Piotr Marciniak have come up so short in the same event? Who is the player who - in theory - Logan is going to move on to from Mark? The only - sort of - MD players even vaguely in his reach, assuming a spectacular start with Burik, would be guys like Beranek or Frishman and both are neither can reasonably be called much better than Mark. (Chase is a little better and Eric is younger, but neither would be anything more than a tiny incremental upgrade) There is also a much better blocker out there without a partner - Marciniak (unless he paired up and I didnt realize it)

Totally proved me wrong. Lol my bad! Had a pretty funny moment when my buddy just tapped him on the shoulder not knowing who he was asked him to take our picture and then asked him how pool play was going... only AA and below had pool play 😂

Dipierro/Grotowski played? Not exactly revisiting BJ/Jake's throwback third from a few years ago. Webber/Vaught took 7th too. Maybe by teaming up they can get a 5th next year?
