get over it homer. At this point there are no ifs and buts. A loss is a loss. A win is a win. Hawaii split series with BYU. UCSB got swept by BYU. A win at SSC is as good as a win in Provo. And a loss in Provo does not equate with a win at SSC. UCSB lost to BYU twice get over it. There are no flipping schedules and such. you are wrong, it is only ifs. The season never finished. There is no winner, no champion. All conjecture and opinions who was the best team and who would have won it all and beat each other. You have your opinion. My opinion after watching every match the top three teams played this season is that UH was the best when the season started and the third best when it ended. Did you watch all the BYU and UCSB games? I did not watch but a split at Provo means that BUI is not that almighty. A Hawai’i loss at SSC might be a fluke. So like you said, there is no clear top or middle of the bunch. And by you saying UCSB was playing better volleyball towards the end is also a wash. UCSB has no top 5 wins that’s it.

Plead all you want. Final standings were as follows: 1. BYU - 17-1 2. Hawai’i - 15-1 3. UCSB - 14-2

I'll be honest, I haven't followed as in depth as in past years. I also don't know enough about the liberos this year. However, from what I watched, what I know, and a little stat digging.. this is what I have come up with at the moment: - Gabi Garcia Fernandez- National Player of the Year. - Camden Gianni/Cole Schlothauer/ - Rookie of the Year - Shawn Olmstead - Coach of the Year 1st TeamGabi Garcia Fernandez - BYU - Opp Davide Gradini - BYU - OH Wil Stanley - BYU - S Daenan Gyimah - UCLA - MH Rado Parapunov - Hawai - Opp Patrick Gasman - Hawaii - MH Ryan Coenen - Lewis - OH 1st Team, 2nd Team, or Honorable MentionAlvaro Gimeno - NJIT - OH Casey McGarry - UCSB - S Randy Deweese - UCSB - Opp Kyle McCauley - UCSD - OH Brett Wildman - PSU - OH Jaylen Jasper - Stanford - Opp Angelos Mandalaris - Barton - OH Pelegrin Vargas - PFW - OH Ray Barsemian - Concordia - OH Colton Cowell - Hawaii - OH Tyler Mitchem - Lewis - MH Kaleb Jenness - Ball State - OH George Huhman - Princeton - Opp/MH

Ucsb no top five wins, hawaii had two. If you are crunching numbers for an at large maybe you have a point but if you were watching both teams play the season it is a tough arguments to make that UH was playing better ball than SB. Flip their schedules and SB is more likely undefeated and UH likely eating 3 or more losses based on the ball I saw played by both teams. UH got absolutely crushed in what was the biggest match of the year, they got beat so bad it should have counted twice! UH v BYU at a neutral or UCSB v BYU at a neutral... I think UCSB would be an odds fav compared to UH to pull that upset, and not by a little.

the reality is this season is over, and has been over. HI has beaten UCSB (before the season started) at Ucsb and split with BYU...who cares??? it doesnt matter who played better volleyball whether at the beginning or at the end of the season. Woulda, coulda, shoulda , not once have I heard any sympathy, or condolences to these young men who had their season cut short? who the #%$# cares??? let's just celebrate & congratulate these young men for their accomplishments and hard work! As hard as it is on us fans, what about the boys? They dont need us reminding them of the Season of what ifs? who the #%&* cares? jus grow up and ket it go! its hard enough on they boys as it is...jeez. old geezers smh

I forgot that Hawaii had already beaten UCSB during fall matches. Someone should just let it go and move on.

surprised it took so long too bring up a preseason scrimmage, I expected that sooner, hahaha! You guys are hilarious. aturaijem jumping into the mud and in the next sentence taking the high road and wagging a finger while shaking the head.
In the words of Ronald Reagan, "If you are explaining, you are losing"

In the words of Ronald Reagan, "If you are explaining, you are losing" Seriously, you're going to quote Reagan to make your point. You think Ronald Reagan is an authorative anchor. You kids break my heart. Hawaii fans. You're going to let some bored UCSB, Reagan quoting, fanboy (I assume you're a boy) ruffle your feathers. He has a right to express his own opinion, an opinion I don't even think McLaughlin shares. Hawaii fans stop feeding the trolls.

I mean, I would probably rank Hawaii second and UCSB third overall (I think Hawaii has to get credit for winning the second match with BYU, even acknowledging the location of those matches), but yeah, trying to use a scrimmage (i.e. a meaningless match) as evidence of that is pretty hilarious.

Well, it’s better than trying to use matches that have never happened and giving opinions that are completely based on ifs, buts, and eye tests.
