Revenue for most schools are from tuition in the fall and spring. Room and Board usually helps keeps schools out of the red. Some places are talking about the fall being delayed will lead to furloughs, early retirements, and other ways to downsize. Some questions for these places concern: refunding the remainder of this spring semester fees, how students are to retrieve their belongings, and will students pay the same tuition for online learning if the fall is delayed. They're not getting the same product anymore. The experience, connection, and vibe is just not present online. I applaud those schools that have allowed students to stay because they face homelessness, abuse, and or food scarcity if they were to leave.

I have a good friend who is AD at a high D2 and he is saying they are preparing for a 10-15% enrollment drop even if fall is intact.
You are going to see a lot of low D1s interested in D2, a lot of D2s looking at D3, and a lot of D3s closing shop.

Coronavirus is going to push schools that were already on the edge over with no hope of return. We all just want you to be happy
