Could be a nasty night. I hesitate to post anything, but this is one messed up situation right now.

For context (because Ruffda was never good at that):

National Guard has been called up. Things are closing all over the place.

Tonight will be bad. They still haven't charged or arrested the cops, and had pretty bad excuses to defend it at the press conference a few minutes ago. More stuff is gonna burn because of that.

What does a timeline for an arrest typically look like? I genuinely have no clue. The last thing we want is a rushed process that includes less-thorough job by the prosecutor that could affect a guilty verdict.

Yikes. Be safe. Maybe an arrest or two would calm the situation? Video is pretty clear-he was murdered.

Freddie Gray was the shortest I could find in my quick googling at 10ish days. Michael Brown and Philando Castile both took more like 3 months. Not passing judgment on speed but people are furious and want some concrete action taken, otherwise it will continue.

What happened to Minnesota Nice? Looters are shopping at Target and buildings are burning.

I do not believe there is much trust among people that arrests and charges actually mean much when it comes to police officers.

Perhaps Walter Scott is a better example. Looks like that cop was arrested only 3 days later in South Carolina, so it seems arrests CAN happen pretty quickly.

If George Floyd had killed a man by kneeling on his neck for 8 minutes, he would have been in jail the day it happened.

Well, my neighbor just attacked me -- totally unprovoked. Totally unrelated, too, but that's how my day is going. Stores being looted a mile or so away.
