Alec Rothe out of Dublin Ohio has really burst onto the scene. Whoa. Wow, very impressive. Middles often develop later but Rothe has an aggressive mentality, swings hard, and clearly has fantastic athleticism/mobility! Looks like she could continue to work on body control at times and refine her approach a bit but man you can tell she has IT. Hope Jen can keep her in Columbus and get her to wear the Scarlet & Gray.

From what I usually see, the program directors find a really tall girl who hasn't played volleyball and they bring them into the system at middle. It doesn't hurt the team much if all they do is try to block at first. When they start to move better (like this kid is showing by actually transitioning) they try them over at outside and see if they can extend their approach and see what they can do. After that they move them back and forth between the two based on team needs. It works pretty well. Obviously if they find a lefty they try them at Oppo.

Nice! My daughter stayed MB since 11th. At 6’3 she is ok. But she is athletic and fast. Other position would had been better. Too bad we didn’t know anything about volleyball.

Tami Alade was only, cough, a 6 2 middle, but won the National championship with Stanford in 2018 before going to Med school =)

For 2024 talent, this is a great place to start. Lots of good talent in this group of teams. I would be curious to see this list toward the end of the year. I have seen both #1 and number #15 and a case could be made for #15 to be ranked #2 or #1 on this list. (Always debatable.) volleyballmag.com/march-2021-15s-rankings/

Attending both AAU and GJNC's one thing is for sure, the 2024 Class seemed to be swarmed by College coaches in comparision to other classes. This class seemed to be stacked with talent from teams across the nation. Looking forward to this thread heating up.

Looking forward to this thread heating up. 2024s are swarmed because they were the unrecruited, (mostly) unevaluated class in this cycle. 2022s are done at the higher levels and offered at the middle levels 2023s are offered at the higher levels and middle levels waiting for leftovers 2024s for the most part hadn't been seen (even more than usual due to Covid)

The little outside from AZ in the National finals against Metro can fly (and she can pass). Crushed the ball out of the bic and on the pin. I was told she is a freshman. Reminded me of Angie Pressey but skinnier.

Lots of talent on these teams but lots of talent from the NT and LS regions not represented on here. DDs team beat 18 and 19 and lost to 6 and 24 without our top setter.

At on point at GJNC's I was standing watching Drive Nation vs Northern Lights and Skyline vs 575 15-1's and was literally tripping over coaches watching those two matches. Both matches were electric with amazing setting and offense and both matches went to 3. So great to see such great talent in an amazing atmosphere.

We have some girls on our team that I think are D1 material one of which is my DD......and wanted to get some coaches or parents thoughts who have gone thru this before. DD the setter, the OH and the middle can been seen in these clips. DD is emailing clips to coaches and is having them view her profile and watch the clips. I think we are doing the right things. Is this a good format for a highlight tape? More highlights can be seen on the profile link. Lone Star Regionals Highlights
Sports recruits profileShe made the prepvolleyball.com watch list and is ranked within the top 80 players in Texas by prep dig. coached for Xcel when it first started
