Also, let’s not forget that Ames and Fuerbringer were club teammates just last year at Mizuno Long Beach. Not saying every player goes to the same school as their club teammate (and good friend by the looks of IG), but it is something to consider…

She certainly doesn't need to give a reason for why she'd choose to go to Wisconsin - but saying that the program has a history of great MB's seems like a stretch, especially when compared to other programs. Beyond Rettke, who is a generational talent and would have been an elite MB at ANY school, Wisconsin's history at MB development doesn't look particularly standout. True. Rettke is a generational talent. But in the relatively confined Sheffield era…Nelson, Williams, and Hart. All AA mention or better, for Wisconsin. I mean, I certainly wasn't trying to imply that Wisconsin's middle development is bad. The poster said "she (Ames) wants to go where there is a history of great MB's", if that's true, Wisconsin is just one of a number of schools to consider. Three All American Middles in 9 years doesn't separate Wisconsin from the pack of other elite schools - that's all I was saying.

The success of Wisconsin coaching Rettke got us Smrek; Smrek's showing at the Final Four coupled with Rettke could easily be enough 'history' to get her attention.

I think Ayden has a better chance of playing at Wisconsin Not necessarily. If Mendelson moves to OPP, Nebraska will have only 2 middles come 2024.

Jurevicius and Batenhorst will be battling at Opposite, and Murray, Pierce, Krause and Kubik battling for the left pin spots. No reason whatsoever to move Mendelson to the right side unless you want to sit 4 of those 6 pin hitters in 2024

Then again, she could play exclusively in the middle, on a basketball court.

Texas going to the SEC may not be enough to beat the BIG in the talent war, it seems.

With Hord and Caffey and Allick, Mendelson's best shot to play is at Opposite in 2022, so that makes sense for this coming season.
