Yes I’m told my daughter will have same day or next day results. Is she at a Big East school? Mine is at an AAC school.

. And right now, test results in most places are taking up to two weeks. My daughter’s D-1 VB team has been getting their tests back next day (at least their first few upon return to campus), so it seems possible to get them quickly. It really depends on where you are and where tests need to be taken for analyzation. It would great if the whole country had one- or two-day results!

As noted on the Oregon and jobs' threads, Nova has made it official:

If the Big East is still committed to having full participation (i.e., all member schools) or cancellation this fall (as I was told was their initial plan), it would appear that they took a hit today. Georgetown announced they are going to start the fall semester remotely. It's been my understanding that NCAA said no participation if a school does not have students on campus.

It's been my understanding that NCAA said no participation if a school does not have students on campus. Not saying that Georgetown (or anybody) is likely to play in the fall, but this isn't quite true. The statement from several months ago was from Emmert who essentially said that in his talks with university ADs and Presidents, the consensus is that if we don't have students on campus, we aren't having sports. There's no 'RULE'. Just what presidents assumed to be true at the time. I don't think Georgetown will be playing fall sports. But I also didn't think they would before today's announcement. They want to remove every obstacle to basketball starting as early as possible.

I've been extremely skeptical for quite some time that they would play this fall, and this just confirms it.

The Big East cannot have a Fall season for VB, or any sport. As far as the DC schools, there are now quarantine periods for those traveling from DC to other Big East cities. The NCAA needs to shut down all Fall sports and also NOT move the championship season to the spring. If championships are moved to the spring, a whole different can of worms will be opened. Eligibilty. Internships. Beach. Transfer situations. What a mess and the NCAA can make it somewhat better by calling the whole thing off. Let them play in the spring without losing a year of eligibilty if the pandemic has lessened. But don't make it the championship season.

My heart goes out to all of the seniors; potentially leaving with "unfinished business" on the court is just heartbreaking!

My money on a spring season. Maybe practice and a few local exhibitions in fall if conditions permit.

That should do it. The NCAA should call the Women's Volleyball Championship off.
