Do you know where I could find a replay? Here’s Denso vs JT that's just a commentary video. the league is very good about secondary broadcasts on YT

I don't speak whatever language they are speaking in so I can't comment on the content but I view it as like a radio-like broadcast. The league is not making the games very accessible and this is sorta an outlet for that. Or if not, nothing more than to just give score updates lol

Not to say any negative thing. But her weight is a big factor to improve her movements and speed. Start from there. Let's give her some credit though as she has made a huge improvement in her weight to begin with as well. Like her senior year at Stanford, she just looked amazing, outside of her playing, physically she didn't seem to be gassed as much as she used to and just looked really healthy... and maybe, now that I am thinking of it, it could have already been brought up, but maybe Japan was more to really get a crash course in the speed of the game? More so than the passing, she went there to learn SPEED... I hope these next couple months help No one talking about her last match? 26 attacks. Speed, athleticism and weight appear to be better than fine. 6”6 isn’t meant to be skin and bones. She’s a power player doing pretty well in her first full pro season.

I am in no way hating on the girl. I like her game and what she brings, I think where the speed topic comes in is with USA and everyone's hopes in her becoming a mainstay with Team USA. I will say though, watching her matches on Monza last season, I think she looked phenomenal and was onto something huge. Damn covid really ruined the fun. She looked fast, explosive and everything she needed to be. Also, asian style volleyball just may not be for her either... I think Euro style ball is more her thing, but she'll figure it out

Just wondering if maybe y'all want to rename this thread: Kathryn Plummer's Journey Through Japan V.League 1 (JVL) or... ?
Would love to see more about the other players. How are they doing?

You might be right! 😁 But, also, there are other players of Team USA I'd love to see updates about instead of this constant rehash of "Is Plummer any good? How did her ponytail look? Was she gassed? How many points did she have even though her team didn't play yesterday?" Let the girl play and get the reps needed for 2024.

Hiccups with the last game notwithstanding, Drews is still no.1 in the league on points (with 137 points). Interesting enough, Plummer is currently ranked 4th with 124 points, not bad at all for her debut: www.vleague.jp/record?round_id=303

I think Euro style ball is more her thing, but she'll figure it out This is a weird statement, even for you. KP didn't enjoy her time in Monza and had no desire to go back to Italy this year. Maybe let her play the season before you decide that "Asian volleyball" isn't for her...

She's looked better in Japan than this board would make you think (after her first match)
