It is Japan...don't get too excited. I mean... it’s almost more impressive because it is Japan? Lol 👎Defense has little chance against a Foluke slide. Block and block touches slow a slide.

You obviously haven’t been watching the matches and know nothing.

It is Japan...don't get too excited. What is that suppose to mean? Not the top league in the world. She's not getting blocked...ever. Great defensively but if she isn't slowed by the block, she's elite and picks her spots. I'd be excited about her producing those numbers in Italy, top of Turkey.

I think you might not be familiar with the Japan League if you dismiss it as a very inferior league lacking good competition.

It's a fine league but it will never be lauded for its blocks. Top MB in the world should feast, even with the superior defense.

At this point I'm so done with people discrediting the Japan league and its players who don't even watch the matches and claim they are familiar with it. When was the last match you watched, 2014? Not every league can be the Turkish League and it doesn't take away from the fact that JVL still produces great volleyball with spectacular defense which you can't see anywhere else. If you're looking for monster blocks all the time, sorry if it can't give you that but if you can appreciate other facets of volleyball like defense, setting and smart hitting, it's not hard to see that it's still up there.
Let's allow the people who actually watch the league enjoy it for what it is and how the players perform, aight?

Drews and Tapp's numbers = 😍
Lee took 48 swings in a 3 set match? That arm is doomed. 🤦🏾♂️

There’s not much of a block presence to slow down American and other foreign hitters. Sure, it’s a superior league in the terms of passing and defense, but some of the offensive numbers should probably be taken with a grain of salt. I’m somewhere in the middle in this debate. I think it’s hard to prove which numbers will translate, but I also think it’s hard to discredit those Foluke and Drews numbers We can appreciate and critique leagues at the same time and we can argue about the meaningfulness of the numbers being put up. That’s always fun. I spent the past couple of years defending that JT is a stud even playing in the mighty AAC. And also, The Turkish league sure as hell ain’t perfect. It has it’s own issues. The bottom teams are atrocious and the top teams have some holes.
