Do we know what foreigners are playing in this league this year? Any further announcements yet? Lippmann is rumored to play for Lokomotiv Kaliningrad after New Year's according to an interview with former Russian national team setter Tatyana Gracheva. She will most likely play in China first then head there.

The Chinese Volleyball Association finally announced the schedule for the upcoming league, a really short one, but more so a tournament in my opinion. It'll be behind closed doors at the Jiangmen Sports Center, Guangdong Province (same place they had the National Championship if I'm not mistaken). No fans are allowed and teams will be living at the venue. Competition schedule is from November 8 to December 19, really compact. link

The top teams should be Tianjin, Guangdong, Shanghai, and maybe Jiangsu. Not sure if Dixon is still heading to Beijing or if they signed an additional OH/OPP.

Larson confirmed on the AU Instagram that she's returning to Shanghai. Just awaiting visa stuff.

Anyone think Robo, who's already there, will sign elsewhere for remainder of the season if thats the case? She's not going to AU as of now. I hope she doesn't opt for a season half the size of a collegiate season..

So the entire season is the length of a month and a half?! I know and I thought last season was short! This one is a complete mess, some clubs aren't happy about it since their players aren't getting meaningful experience when the league is cut down this much.

And I wonder how much the foreign players were aware of this?? Like if they knew, would they have opted to go elsewhere? Robo signed another year with fener, Larson returns to Turkey or Russia, Dixon somewhere, etc. While I understand the rhetoric of pursuing the asian leagues for the shorter terms, ability to recovery, etc etc. How beneficial is a month and a half going to be to then return stateside and have little to no good training. I can't see how beneficial 3v3 is when its olympic year!

I can't see how beneficial 3v3 is when its olympic year! I honestly don't think they knew what they were exactly signing up for. They knew it was going to be a short season, but not this short. Of course there was going to be changes due to the pandemic then there was the possibility that they weren't going to allow foreigners and now everything was rushed during planning. A regular Chinese league season not during the Olympic year or affected by Covid would usually end around March/April. With this length of a season I wouldn't mind them playing in China, but I understand your thought when it comes to playing in such short leagues.

Google Translate:
"The most unforeseen circumstance can become that decisive moment that changes everything!!! Every year my life presents me with surprises, who knows me personally is no longer surprised ...))) If not for my psychological hardening and stability, acquired after many years of work with a psychologist, of course, these situations would knock me out of my rut!"
"BUT, I have long accepted life and difficult circumstances as a chance to grow and experience! So, the news that overtook me yesterday is that I cannot fly to China!"
"Because of what, how and why - it is no longer important, but in short, because of my last year's work visa ...! Everyone tried to find a way out: the visa department, the leaders of the past and future teams. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find a solution acceptable for the visa protocol ... The situation, of course, is interesting, because it is October)) The whole world started the championship long ago, and it is not easy to find a team at this time! Rather, a team in terms of level, ambition and skill ...
To be honest, yesterday on emotions I was thinking about different options and even about ending my career ... !! I leave quickly, I can ask the right questions for myself and I know that I can trust this world, so I am already calm and smiling ..))"

At least she is taking it somewhat well. I wonder what path she will take now?
