Shandong recently changed sponsors from Sports Lottery to Rizhao Steel. The team held a practice match at the new venue after the unveiling.
Also part of the team, but are currently with the national team training are libero Wang Mengjie and middles Yang Hanyu and Zhang Qian.

Rabadzhieva should be heading to China soon according to social media.
Kosheleva will also be playing in the Chinese League, but did not disclose the team.
The league will begin with the National Volleyball Championship, a domestic competition without foreigners.

National Women's Volleyball Championship: Sept. 23 - Oct. 3
Group A: Shanghai, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Beijing, Fujian, Yunnan, Hebei Group B: Shandong, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Henan, Sichuan
Before the competition begins teams will have to go through a physical fitness test of 10 areas, body mass index, seated flexion, 30 meter sprint, vertical jump, squat strength, bench press strength, pull ups, abdominal endurance, back endurance, and a 300 meter run. All 14 members of each participating team are required to participate though only the scores of the top 12 players are added to the teams total score.
Bayi will not take part in the competition and the team may disband this season similar to other Bayi sports teams. Members of the team that include Yuan XY and Liu YH may transfer to another club for the regular season. The favorites for this championship are Tianjin and Jiangsu who have key domestic players that are part of the National Team. The Top 4 in Group A and Group B will move on to the quarterfinals. Zhu Ting, Yan Ni, Yao Di, and Zeng Chunlei will not be participating. Hopefully there will be links/replays available.

The exact date for the Regular Season has not yet been mentioned. With this recently announced idea of a "bubble" I assume plans are sill in the works. Rabadzhieva is the only foreigner already in China.
I wonder if they can use the current venue the National Championship is taking place as a bubble since that's what is currently happening. Players and staff were tested beforehand, living arrangements are at the venue, and the public are not allowed inside.

These are games without foreign players so I select clubs with team members who are on the NT so that some of you may recognize the players: Jiangsu vs Shanghai: Jiangsu vs Tianjin: Zhejiang vs Liaoning: Tianjin vs Fujian: Jiangsu vs Beijing:

This match was a good one! A fierce battle between Zhang CN and Gong XY vs Li YY and they weren't going easy on each other.

Do we know what foreigners are playing in this league this year? Any further announcements yet? Not yet unfortunately, but the league is supposed to begin in November. We should see foreigners heading to China in these next few weeks.

This match was a good one! A fierce battle between Zhang CN and Gong XY vs Li YY and they weren't going easy on each other. Yup. Jiangsu seem to be on a roll. Their team heavy with NT players certainly seems to help. It seems like the championship will come down to Jiangsu vs Tianjin. Personally I root for Jiangsu more as Tianjin has won more than enough trophies, let another team have a go. Here is Jiangsu vs Fujian:

Any news on Zhu? Is she staying in Tianjin? She is recovering from a flare up of her old wrist injury and will be sitting out the national championships.

Another great match but the result was a little...disappointing. Yeah, was hoping Jiangsu would come out on top. Rooting for Shandong in the finals.
