Carlini confirmed 18. The remaining seven are coaches/covid enforcer. In that case, it's honestly a toss up for me. A 5th middle or a 9th pin hitter? I guess one could argue that taking all of these OH's that can also play RS would be more beneficial since their all around game is stronger. In that case, I could see leaving Lowe at home, but I would be shocked if that happened. Karch likes her and she is an Olympic vet. Tori is also in the mix if she is healthy. Courtney also slightly injured her back during the Italian League finals. Will she be needing more recovery time? Lots of variables.

We also don't know if any AU/NCAA/Overseas folks will get the call? That could open up the playing field even wider.

If we had more players, than like @avid said, I bet we see Butler, Rettke, and maybe a few others. But it's covid season, stick to your veterans and get the machine oiled and running for Tokyo.

I meant in place of any injured players. There are several who have been dealing with various injuries this season. I too agree that the vets and olympic prospects should get the nod above all others.

It was clear from carlini that 18players from vnl will have chance for the final roster. It means those who are injured and not fit to travel and compete for vnl will automatically out for the olympic roster. It'll be head to head, blood to blood haha just kidding.
So if you have chance to play for the match make sure you play good or else koraly will keep the record and stats.
Hope everyone gets chance to play.

I will be very interested to see who the alternates for the Olympics are...that much is true. But my memory faintly recalls that like injury replacements cannot enter the VNL bubble.

Then why do people even want MBH to go? It sounds like nobody here thinks she can contribute due to her “weak” passing. Why not just take someone like Simone Lee with a huge arm if we are taking someone who can’t pass. Babe....

How much do ya'll want to bet that this tournament (VNL) will not return to it's previous world touring format? I would be willing to wager that more athletes are going to prefer it if it were all held in one spot instead of all over the world with tons of travel. Does anyone know if the FIVB owns the rights to Volleyball TV? IF so, they should just charge a bit more for subscriptions to help mitigate the loss in revenue from ticket sales. I would pay more than 20$ for an entire year of content. I don't think this'll happen. there will be a large drop in viewership for every country that's not hosting.

(I think it could be planned/regionalized better) I'd like to see the finals moved more, but I understand the $$$ being in China.

I could see a change in the structure -- perhaps fewer countries host, or finals moves around, but I don't think it'll be everything in one country.

I agree. If they wanted to do that, they would've after the WGP was scrapped. I wonder how much work it would be (if even possible) to better align North/South american stops, Asia, Europe, etc

Perhaps they can do something similar for VNL.

In VNL 2019, China hosted x4 (preliminary), 11x in Europe, 3x in non-China Asia, 2x in North/South America. Surely they could make it work, like Week 1 Asia (Japan, Thailand, Korea, China), Week 2 China, Week 3 Europe, Week 4 Europe, Week 5 Americas (USA, Brazil, Canada, DR) (Korea's path in 2019 was rough. Serbia -> China -> USA -> Italy -> Korea)

Dixon posted a tiny clip on her insta story of Karsta hitting her in the face (lol) and JWO playing setter and setting her (very cool). JWO is back in the gym and I think I saw Foluke as well along with everyone else who was already there. Not sure if I missed anyone.
