Nothing dumb about being able to watch the Wahine for $7 a month. That's less than one half of a movie ticket, and less than a Big Mac Meal. That's true but supporting a volleyball fan for a monthly fee of 5 dollars a month and having a live chat to react is so much more appealing to me. we do try to react in real time during the match threads on vt ... haha ... but i hear what you're saying ...

Take aways from the Davis game; Really good to see how under control the team looked in switch block situations after the middles ran slides and ended up blocking on the right. The execution was exactly what you want to see from a team developing in practice in a positive direction. I’m glad Lang has gotten into a groove, should be nice to see where things go for the team looking forward. Think the last piece is some one developing as a legit point scorer on the right side. I’m a fan of Akana and Westerberg but Leoniak improving her step close and offensive range needs to happen if she wants to be consistent there and hold her spot. Either of those three are young in their collegiate careers and capable, it’s just about who is going to work for it more. If Johnson’s injury was lower body i really hope she’s been working on her touch in receive. That’s the only thing keeping her behind Wagoner besides Rileys offensive inconsistency, she’s just so shaky on receive and we need our middles far too much to risk that, no matter how good she is as a point scorer. She steps the passing up she steps in as the OH1 next season and relieves the OHs more this season. Johnson had a boot on so I don't know how much she can work on passing

Random question, Was Akana the best middle in her class coming out of Hawaii high schools? She was #1 in her class from Hawaii that year I believe. So yes.

Watching Annika and Anna put up their huge freshman block had me thinking how great it will be to watch that develop for the next four years. Then I remembered that I thought the exact same thing two years ago watching Amber and Hanna, so now I’m not going to count my chickens before they hatch. 🤞 I guess the jinx is officially on (at least until next year). 🙁

Wahine’s frequent lineup changes must be wreaking havoc on BWC opponent scouting reports. Speedy recovery wishes go out to MJ and Annika. Bummed that we can’t attend matches, especially the grudge matches like LBSU and Cal Poly.

Oh darn, UH missed out on a good domestic MB recruit. I guess there are still some good international ones or potential transfers.

Thought I'd play around with this out in left field factoid. I think it started with the Big West Conference writeups and the UH sports department continued it. It was about the average height of each team. Cal Poly was the tallest at 71.91" and Hawaii was second at 71.82". Every single game note since then has carried this statement. I wondered if Kyra leaving the team (which saddened me) made a difference. Appears that Hawaii is now the tallest team at 72.04".
Too bad height doesn't correlate perfectly with success on the court....

Too bad height doesn't correlate perfectly with success on the court.... Annika, Martyna, Tiff and Ilayda are all really tall OHs and average 6'3", but Hawaii starts BVS, Brae, Riley and MJ, who average around 5'10". Throw in a 5’10” setter, and Hawaii starts looking pretty small (but skilled). I wonder how long it has been since Hawaii's starting OHs and Opp averaged 5'10"?
