Can you elaborate on that opine? I'm definitely biased. Quality of education is better at UVA. AD is top notch and other staff are extremely supportive of women's sports and want to see VB do better. Only slight is playing in old facility but it does have it's charm. From an outsider's perspective, Clemson seems like an SEC athletic department competing in the ACC. I think they have huge amounts of football money to spend. So it's a very different job from UVA. Might depend on the coach's strengths. The EADA report (for what it's worth) says Clemson spends $122 million on about 500 athletes. Virginia spends about $108 million on 725 athletes. I was honestly expecting a bigger difference, but that's still fairly significant.

Simpson-Kirr named interim. Does that mean she's coaching the team in the fall? Why else would you name an interim in May?

We've seen a lot of coaches flock to schools like this. It will be interesting to see how it nets out.

I had hopes that Clemson would possibly get back into NCAAT dicussion for the first time since ‘09 next year.
Slavik+Hannah+Martin are very talented players.

And... for Clemson standards... those results aren’t even that bad? The last coach tailed off at the end of her career but had some conference titles and was in the tourney a lot. Clemson was surely looking for better when they made this hir (esp. with the heightened profile of the athletic department overall). 10 years ago it was probably Clemson's flagship women's sport (it might still be?!?!?) Odd year for a W-L firing after 4 seasons, but the program hadn't been overshooting expectations. IF you are referring to Jolene Hoover when you say "the last coach tailed off at the end of her career....etc", then you are forgetting the coach coach that came between Coach Hoover and Coach Franklin. Coach Hoover was not the "last", as in previous, coach

Outsiders perspective here......but I think the success of Ga Tech also hurt Franklin

Outsiders perspective here......but I think the success of Ga Tech also hurt Franklin The success of Georgia Tech, South Carolina has been better than them, and they lost to UNC Charlotte this past season. I also don’t think Franklin & AD saw eye to eye. I think she wanted things that he wasn’t willing to give her. She always seemed pretty arrogant I thought.

Do you mean how she rescinded McKissock’s (setter—and Elli UF libero’s sister) offer and she headed over to GT only to excel there?

UVA: better gym, better campus, and academics are obviously in a different galaxy (but that cuts both ways, to be honest). Charlottesville is way nicer.
Clemson: better overall facilities, SEC feel at an ACC school (the football success matters more than people think in recruiting), and all that $$$$$$$$$$. Jervey Gym is an absolute joke of a facility, though.
It's really close, I think, and it depends on what you're looking for in a job. Clemson might be easier to win *now* and are certainly more talented at the moment.
Clemson has the scratch to go get whomever they want currently winning at a lower level.
EDIT: I asked my wife (an accomplished college volleyball player) and she said: "Clemson's kids look like they actually play DI volleyball." So there you have it.

It seems Michaela has also deleted her IG and Facebook accounts. Tell me you've done something wrong without actually telling me you've done something wrong...
