I predict that the Spring Season will not happen... or, at the very least, will look nothing at all like what is being released now.
Between...
*A new administration coming in and pushing for a National shutdown *Individual states like New York, California, Michigan, and others more likely than not implementing stricter policies *Rising "cases" amidst colder weather *Testing/protocols that will no doubt get harsher
I can't see how a Spring Season will survive (in any sport quite frankly).
(Case in point... LA County just issued a "Stay-At-Home" order starting Monday through Dec 20th")

(Case in point... LA County just issued a "Stay-At-Home" order starting Monday through Dec 20th") My counters to these... Even during the campaign, Biden acknowledged that things like a lockdown or mask mandates can’t be implemented at the national level. But he’d urge governors to act. Which is fine. But do we really think that the governors of New York, California, Pennsylvania, etc cared at all what Trump said? Do we think the governors of Florida, Texas and South Dakota are going to care what Biden says? Similarly, I don’t see why testing/protocols would change. But cost of testing will likely continue to drop. More than anything, schools are desperate to keep basketball going (along with the last month of football season). LA county might’ve issued a Stay at Home order, but I bet UCLA football is still playing their home game tomorrow and I’m sure their basketball teams are going to keep playing. And I don’t think there’s any way that schools say it’s too dangerous to play volleyball while continuing to play basketball.

Most of the state is just trying to implement some sort of rules alongside the new Newsom guidelines. Anything done over the next 4 weeks should overlap with a roll out of the vaccine which should alleviate the strictness of the tiers. Its just stupid to politicize everything and go after “Democrat leaning” states because they’re trying to contain this the best they can while still giving people the right to interstate travel, which is what is really hurting the country overall. It was also stupid of CIF to promote sports returning in December when they don’t advocate for much in terms of what they want for sanitation guidelines or push respective districts to update ventilation systems. This has been one big mismanaged mess since at least April

Even after basketball ends? That’s bizarre.

Tuesday, Wednesday games for the WCC This is the first schedule from a “top” volleyball conference who routinely gets multiple at large bids. Exciting start! Not much wiggle room at all for non-conference play. Also, Fri/Sat will be the schedule for the last few weeks per the article. And n00b foreshadowed that in a few comments up re: Basketball. Please let all this come to fruition! I’m excited for volleyball being played literally every day of the week among conference schedules!

BYU @ San Diego then San Diego @ BYU on consecutive nights is some tough scheduling... No way it’s on consecutive nights in that series. The others are pretty do-able, minus maybe Portland and Gonzaga? “Matches against travel partners will move to the other team’s venue on the second day of competition that week.“ I think that means later in the week, at least a few days. Not back-to-back. Though I guess the wording is not so clear.

Just thought it was funny the WCC would even post that.

Play Friday at noon, both teams hold hands and fly to Provo together later in the day? Practice Fri night or Sat morning before doing it all over again Sat night? Insane. Now Pepp-LMU I have no beef. You can take public transit from LMU to Pepp and reverse and it’s not even that grueling.
