Is everyone only playing other MAC teams? I’m not sure if non-conference is permitted or not, but they’re already playing 22 matches in 9.5 weeks. Not many coaches would want to add to that schedule.

Wow this is going to be an interesting year in the MAC. I’ve heard some good things about Western Michigan.

I'm curious about how seeds 2-4 will be determined for the conference tournament in April. CMU's press release stated that "Divisional play will remain in effect with the overall league champion hosting the four-team league tournament...". Will the top 2 from each Division get seeded or will it be the top 4 records across the conference? Divisional play doesn't make much sense this season with the round robin format.
We also won't see a low seed team get hot in the conference tournament like WMU did in 2014 or EMU in 2018 to snatch away a tournament bid. Looking forward to some typically unpredictable Maction!

Top 4 overall. The Mac is ditching traditional “divisional play” for 2021 spring. Normally the league has teams within same division face off home/away and non-division foes either home OR away, for 16 total matches. This year 22 matches. Each team twice on back to back nights in same venue. Except travel partner which is home/away to balance schedule at 11 home, 11 away.

Alright, I won't have to put all of my "west division" eggs into the Toledo basket. Pretty sure that basket has a hole in the bottom of it, btw.

I am hoping that NIU can have a better season, since they are my favorite MAC team. Best of luck to the Huskies, Ray Gooden, and new assistant coach Morgan Salow!

Who are the top three players at each position in the Mac? Here's my list: OH: Meyer (BGSU); Bontrager (WMU); Smith (CMU) MB: Jimerson (Ohio); Rosario-Martinez (CMU); Chase (EMU) OPP: Nedoma (Ohio); Harper (Miami); Copley (Kent State) S: Giacomazzi (Ohio); Weigand (Akron); Balensiefer (NIU) DS/L: Walz (BGSU); Gardner (Kent State); Karlen (NIU) Lots of room for argument up there.

Who are the top three players at each position in the Mac? This is a great question for all conferences.

Ohio is loaded on offense; the team to beat in the MAC.
