She may not win POY, but she was clearly the best player on the floor in both matches versus Texas. Ok, so good for her I guess They changed the name of the award to Best Player During the Head-to-Head. You didn’t hear? New trophy and everything.

I mean it speaks to something that during the two players in contention for the awards toughest match of the year one shined like a star and one played the worst she did all season. Now I still think overall Logan deserves the award but the disparity was huge in performance in those 2 matches

In the two matches against Texas Yoss scored 65 points. Eggleston was at 39.5. Presley was also a more efficient attacker in both matches.

What’s the point of putting an asterisk on it? The clue is in the name.

It's obviously no surprise that Pressley played better in the two matches against Texas, yet her team won neither. With Texas' match against TCU still on the docket, overall, Eggleston's numbers only stand to get better as TCU is statistically the worst team in the conference. In every category, Eggleston leads Pressley and has two head-to-head wins against Baylor. If people want to reward POY to Pressley because she played lights out against Texas yet still took the loss, then why call it player of the YEAR? No one was having this conversation last year when Pressley and Baylor laid an egg in Austin.

Pressly played just fine in Austin last season That is some revisionist history you're throwing out there or you don't know the difference between Austin and Waco.

Her hitting close to 200 is impressive given the circumstances in that match.

Yet another thread that has been taken over by cackling hens. Yossi is returning in 2021- That should be the end of the discussion, you bumptious nincompoops.

Why are y'all dragging this Pressley/Eggleston debate from the Big 12 thread over to the Returning Seniors thread? It's great Pressley is staying an extra year. Now feel free to discuss who deserves what accolades here: volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/81464/big12-2020-21
