In every category, Eggleston leads Pressley and has two head-to-head wins against Baylor. If people want to reward POY to Pressley because she played lights out against Texas yet still took the loss, then why call it player of the YEAR?. This sword cuts both ways, if you are giving Logan credit for Texas wins against Baylor despite being out played by Pressley, then why not switch it from player of the year to best player on the TEAM of the year?....the best player isn’t always on the winning team. Logan deserves the POY but the back end of your argument isn’t a logical justification of that

Members want to see which Seniors are returning in the Fall of 2021, not be witness to a tired discussion on Pressley vs Eggleston. Any more of those types of posts on this thread will be promptly deleted. Plesase take those discussions to the pertinent threads.

I would love to see Pressley transfer out to some place that will hone in on her passing skills. She has made it crystal clear she wants a professional career and to work under Karch and she needs to learn to pass. She needs to go to a place that she can get those quality reps. Any PAC12 would be nice and she can try out some beach work or Nebraska too... I think it’s absolutely stupid to think that any particular program will groom a player for the national team over others. There is almost no correlation to national team prospects OTHER THAN most were billed to be top players before ever even playing a college match. Nebraska fans want to pretend that setters going to their program will have some sort of leg up, but when was the last time the program produced a national traveling team setter? Players like Bartsch and Drews are phenomenal NOW, but they spent most of their careers at Illinois and Purdue being good, not exceptional. Jordan Thompson spent her years at freakin Cincinnati, yet people are pencilling her in for an Olympic spot as a rookie! Hodge was one of the best passing OH’s at Penn State in the country, yet she changes her name to Easy and she becomes shankzilla. People place WAY too much emphasis on individual programs impact on a players national team prospects. Players like Jordan Larson and Foluke Akineadewo were going to be exceptional players at any college they went to. There was nothing special about them graduating from Nebraska or Stanford for why they have been successful on the national team.

I don't believe that seniors should be featured on college teams. They're too old.

Caitlyn Newton graduated today and Dave made a congratulatory post. In it he said, “However, we are not letting her leave anytime soon. She has plenty of memorable days ahead.” I wonder if Purdue will bring her back. There is depth at the pin at Purdue, but maybe you keep her just to make a run at it next year?

Well Carlini won POY for the Big Ten, and Hancock won POY for AVCA... Ah, yes. The year Hancock won Fan Favorite!

It's interesting you say that, given how critical people still are re Lexi Sun. I'm not here to shade the Nebraska program, but I just think it's silly to say that Nebraska is the "best" at training 6 rotation OH's. What, exactly, makes them the best? For every top-rated pin that has spent significant time with the Nebraska program that has had success with the national team, there is another top-rated OH that went through the program that did NOT develop into national team material. Whatever Cook did with Larson didn't seem to work with players like Mueller or Werth. Whatever Cook did with Foecke hasn't translated over to Sun. Again, no shade, I'm just pointing out the obvious. Nebraska is a great program to train and produce quality athletes, that much is clear, but what is not clear is why they deserve the title as the program that is best able to train 6 rotation OH's for the national team.

I understand what you're saying but there are clearly some coaches that are better teachers of the technical aspects of the game than others. Those coaches will, over time, improve the skills of their players more than less capable coaches.
