OMG, if they don't get a stationary camera, I am not watching this. I'm already getting a headache 5 minutes in. I thought it got better as the day went on but I’m assuming this is just the scrimmage view (and the non tv matches)

King played insane defense. SSS set the middles well but she was setting the ball SO high to the pins

I think the strongest skill on display was blocking, paralleled by serving. The ladies knew how to set a block and close it very well. Teams were tall and strong. Something that it appeared many of the players were unaccustomed to. They also knew how to serve with intention and how to break up various service reception patterns. Weakness include setting, passing, floor defense and the ability to hit/set against a knowledgeable block. Watching the setting was a trip... so much variety in skill, style, placement, tempo and knowing what a hitter would like in certain situations. Which makes sense as in college most of these ladies don't face that sort of defense. Also because of the passing and ball control, a terminal OH had high priority; a lot of out of system stuff. Since many of these ladies are volleyball fans, coaches and volleyball saavy, they know many things and one of those is to diagnose what their core of players need to learn (a substantial bit to rise to the level of their best players). The potential for further growth is huge and a complex, enjoyable puzzle. It will be fun to watch.

I was working so couldn't watch the second game. Did Sheilla play? Yes. Nobody could set her a proper ball and it was obvious the setters weren’t comfortable setting the opp so she looked bad? That’s sad

I definitely noticed they were all struggling with the D ball (which is weird considering all of the setters have played internationally)

so she looked bad? That’s sad Shelia looked bored or uncomfortable. Maybe both. do we think she still has the potential to be one of the best players in the league or is she too past her prime?

She is a bit undersized though and if she’s past her prime she probably doesn’t get up like she used to so she might struggle to terminate OOS

Would like to see Clark have a shot with training with the NT and see how she does. The coming weeks may show more tho. She’s looked very solid so far, which could be a good sign for her future (plus they are playing with a Mikasa ball)
