So I took Saturday night (after the match ) and yesterday off because I just needed time to get over the L lol but I think I'm ready to give my take. Wow. If you would've told me that we would've hit .333 on the match and still lose, I wouldn't have believed you. It's clear that Kentucky was clearly the best team this year and their performance on Saturday night showed it. There were SO many serves that I was like "oh this is coming back on our side" and Lilley would make a play on it and I'd be like "damn." I've never seen a setter put their hitters in such great positions e.g. Stumler's performance. However, I am interested to see how Stumler does with Lilley (i.e. see Quade without Poulter, she was a completely different player). Same thing goes for Curry. I have to admit, I was never high on Curry because I just didn't see it. I felt like her LOY awards in the SEC were mostly because there wasn't really anyone else that was deserving and she did play behind an outstanding Kentucky libero before coming into that spot. I thought there were so many balls that were going to be down for kills that Curry saved. Not many other liberos in the country would make those plays. I thought we played really, really well. I thought we should've done a better job at positioning our block, especially against Stumler. I felt like on these OOS sets, Molly was pushed all the way to the antennae, when she needed to be about a foot to her left. Easy block for Bri. I saw somewhere where Lilley had 19 digs, NINETEEN! Talk about a great game plan, making the setter NPOY take the first ball. Gotta think most other setters don't have that same success back there. I also thought Kentucky passed lights out. I also thought we did an okay job at passing save for the second set where it was clearly a let down for us. I also thought that JE should've maybe game Iosia the black jersey at the start of the fourth set as it seemed like O'Brien was just a step too slow at some points. All in all, I'm glad Kentucky took this match as they clearly deserved it and won it. There wasn't some sort of "Texas-sized let down" as I'm sure many of the posters on this board would've liked to have seen. Scary to think this ENTIRE team returns next year. Hook 'Em. With Iosia coming in did you want her to play LB? Bc usually even if she gets the jersey she plays MB when O’Brien comes in

I think we all get caught up on who's playing in the front row but now, we have a slew of back row players who can compete for spots as well. O'Brien, Peterson, Iosia, and Parra. I would love to see Parra take an Annika Albrecht type of backrow role, if she can give us the passing and defense that we need. Or maybe Texas goes out and tries to get Densberger to Texas! lol

We saw this in big time matches and she wasn't a big factor. Elliot tested her out and it wasn't there just yet. I can't wait how much she develops as she keeps training with the team in the next coming months.

Guess i wasn't the only who thought the block should have move to the right. Did anyone see any block adjustment at all? Thanks Ladies for a wonderful year of volleyball and looking forward to the fall.

Texas did confirm that they are moving back to Gregory gymnasium for the fall. 100% capacity is expected but could change at any time. I can't wait to get back to normal things and get into the atmosphere of Gregory. I hope Texas has an orange and white scrimmage this year as well
