What is everyone thinking about this next year? Will there be actual tours to attend? Who will have a big year? Is there anything or anyone specific to be excited about?

Alrighty. I guess I'll start
Predictions
1. The Olympics happen with Mol & Sorum beating the Russians in the finals. No USA teams medal.
2. The AVP has another somewhat truncated season. Likely a few events missing the top guys. I'll guess that at least one event will have a team get its first ever title.
Hopes
1. Timmy B gets a good partner and wins an event.
2. The USA sees some true young high level talent emerge at the blocker position.

I’m curious about the AVP streaming deal with Amazon Prime. It was originally announced in late 2017 as a three year contract. Presumably that has now expired.
It would seem impossible at this point for the AVP to plan a regular traveling tour in the US given the uncertainty of local restrictions on fan attendance. A fully attended event would seem difficult to pull off at the last minute even if restrictions are lifted this summer.
Also, the latest round of AVP player contracts should have expired by now. Perhaps that is why we saw more players participating in non-AVP events in recent months.
Without a streaming partner in 2021, I would worry that the AVP has nothing to offer the players right now and that the season and tour itself may be in jeopardy of being cancelled entirely. Hopefully they are exploring the possibility of another series like the Champions Cup if they can re-up with Amazon or find another streaming partner.
Anyone have any inside information that might shed some light on the current situation with the AVP?

Those are good points - unfortunately. I do fear there being a point when Donald loses interest to keep this going. Hopefully that isn't the case.

I mentioned it last summer, and I'll say it again. The AVP should throw some money towards local promoters who are hosting tournaments; if they don't plan to have a tour, the players are just gonna do what they did in 2020...go to TX and FL and play in every tournament they can. Not to mention, probably doing a clinic a few days leading up to the tourney to make some money. I have a feeling that normalcy will begin to return around May/June, so hopefully Olympics will be awesome.
