VOLLEYTALK
2021 SPRING PICK-THE-WINNERS CONTEST
Please join vbbetterthanbb , FreeBall , vballfan17 and me in welcoming in a belated, shortened and unprecedented winter-spring season of VT Pick-the-Winners Contest! D-I matches start Friday, January 22. As in the past, this contest runs weekly through the regular season ending April 3, with weekly winners and a season winner to be awarded with demonstrable avatar bragging rights. (We expect there will also be a separate NCAA tourney contest.) All Volley Talk members are eligible and encouraged to enter.
This year we are again using 2019’s modified contest entry format (see below) in order to make it easier for contestants to enter without making mistakes and to make the scoring much more efficient, more accurate and less time-consuming. Contestants are required to post their entries using the exact format specified so that we can copy and paste it "as is" directly onto the scoring spreadsheet. Because of the chaotic scheduling and anticipated last minute scheduling changes, postponed and/or canceled matches, it is not feasible this year to standardize the day and time each weekly contest will be posted to open and close. The window between opening a contest and closing it may need to be shortened considerably this year due to circumstances beyond our control. We thank you in advance for understanding and cooperating.
Scoring for this season's contest:
1. One point for each correct pick in each weekly contest;
2. Five points for winning each weekly contest;
3. Ten points for picking every match correctly in any weekly contest consisting of at least 15 matches; and
