The battle for the top four spots of the Horizon League continue on Monday. Cleveland State needs to beat the undefeated Wright State to stay in the running. Purdue Ft. Wayne plays Oakland which is an important match for the standings as well. NKU faces Milwaukee. It doesn’t look like the Horizon League is making up the cancelled matches from earlier this season.

No one has come close to challenging Wright State this season in the Horizon League, but Cleveland State has pushed the Raiders to a 5th set! Watch (ESPN+) Live Stats
ETA: Wright State escapes! They finish on a 6-1 run to take the 5th 15-12 and remain undefeated in the Horizon.

UIC stays hot and takes down Green Bay. Green Bay falls to 4-10 on the season just a couple years after winning it.

Horizon League Standings - Week 7
Team | Record | Wright State | 12-0 | UIC | 11-1 | Purdue Fort Wayne | 10-4 | Northern Kentucy | 7-3 | Cleveland State | 7-7 | Oakland | 5-7 | Milwaukee | 4-6 | Green Bay | 4-10 | Youngstown State | 3-7 | Robert Morris | 1-11 | IUPUI | 0-8 |
With two weeks of play left before the conference tournament Wright State, UIC and Purdue Fort Wayne have locked up their spots and Northern Kentucky is on the cusp. Not too much drama down the stretch in the Horizon League.

Horizon League Standings - Week 7

Not too much drama down the stretch in the Horizon League. I'm wondering if the Horizon has a chance at a 2nd-bid. There aren't exactly clear runaways for the last few at-large bids (as it's looking so far), especially when we're talking teams that are barely .500 in power conferences getting the benefit of the doubt. Not sure if they should, but FWIW, Horizon was the #7 RPI conference behind the American Athletic Conference last year. It will be interesting to see what the committee does. Say Wright St. wins out - loses Horizon Championship... maybe they get in.

UIC-NKU cancelled next week. Will NKU have enough games in to make the tournament? Will UIC play Wright State since they have the bye week?

UIC-NKU cancelled next week. Will NKU have enough games in to make the tournament? Will UIC play Wright State since they have the bye week? This cancellation basically gives Northern Kentucky a back door entry into the Horizon tournament, even if they lost twice in the final series against Robert Morris. I’d really love to see UIC and Wright State square off but it’s probably not worth it since they are likely to play each other anyways for the championship.

I actually think the tournament field is set. Wright State and UIC are locked into #1 or #2. Fort Wayne and NKU are locked into #3 or #4. Right?

Will NKU have enough games to qualify? Is there a minimum requirement? They aren’t playing this week due to covid. Will they be cleared by next week? That would be a tough break for them.

Most leagues are saying 50%. NKU is already comfortably past that, even if next week's matches are cancelled as well.
