mintonetteman , they are doing mobile only delivery, unless you are like me and have no mobile phone. They've told me I can stop by the ticket office to have them printed. They forgot to include this tiny bit of important information in the season tickets information section on the website or in any of the phone conversations I had with them. You download them to Google Pay or Apply Pay from your account. Here's the direct link expaining how: Wow-no cell phone. Do you have electricity ๐๐? He, he, he, azvb , but I notice you didn't ask if I have an outhouse or running water. Tsk, tsk, basics always come first.

I am mixed on the Grimmer redshirt idea. Thx azvb, my wife just told me the same thing after I made her call! Wish me luck, I can barely post something on this website with my phone!

With Grimmer, I would be surprised if she redshirted, as I think she'll still get some playing time this year if/when one of the pin hitters is struggling or needs a break. And since last year didn't count for eligibility purposes, she'd still have two more years as the likely starter at opposite.

Zayna Meyer was not as polished a setter as I had thought she would be. Her sets were all over the place. She's not getting a clean contact about 1/3 of the time, and she has a tendency to kind of run through her sets if she has to move to the ball. Some of that may have been nerves. She is much slighter than I expected, so I think she'll need to increase her muscular strength to be a better net player. But she's tall and lanky and quick and mobile with good instincts, so she certainly has the potential to be very, very good if she can improve her technique, timing, and accuracy. Edit: Meant to add that I think nerves played into some of this. I say that because she looked pretty good at the end of the 4th set when setting the white team (Livingston, Stowell, Albright, Eschenberg, Koerber) after setting really poorly for the first half.
Sophia Callahan played on the north side of the court for every set, so I did not have a good viewing angle of her most of the time. I was impressed with her aggressiveness. She is not afraid to keep swinging freely even if she's just been blocked. That's a great sign. Elyse Stowell plays the same way. Both are legitimate six-rotation OHs from what I can see. I couldn't really see Callahan's backrow defense, but Stowell had two fantastic digs in the 1st set when she played six rotations. I also couldn't see much of either's passing, so I'm not sure about that.
Bri Albright is impressive. Her blocking seems very good at this stage, better than her offense. She seems pretty quick laterally, more so than I expected. I can't remember much of what she did offensively. They ran at least one slide with her, but it was ugly.
Alyssa Montoya played very little. She subbed in for the few plays that Koerber was out (after sliding headfirst into the support), but I don't think she even touched the ball. I don't remember anything else from her.

Pretty much agree. I think all of the freshmen will redshirt unless one of them can pass significantly better than the other backcourt options. I wasn't paying that close attention to Meyer's location, but I did like the other elements of her game. I think she'll be fine in a couple years. I was also impressed with Albright's blocking, especially in the first set. She was a pretty imposing presence on that side of the net, though her offense needs some work. I actually missed the play where Koerber went down because I was looking at my phone. When I looked up, I just saw her crumpled near the R1, and I was having McKenna Miller flashbacks because I had no idea what happened. When she walked off under her own power, I was very relieved.

Another thing from the scrimmage is that BYU's B team in the third set was something like: L: Reinert DS: M. Bower (she may have actually been playing libero--I can't remember) Not that is matters much, but, yeah, M. Bower played Libero for blue in the third set, and Dayton played a DS slot for Blue. Reinert played DS for white in the 3rd; she was rotating with Nixon (Nixon served). McComber rotated with Anderson (and McComber served). Honestly thought M Bower looked improved in serve receive.

I also saw improvement in serve receive from Morgan Bower. My sister commented on this as well. I thought she was better than both Reinert and McComber on Saturday, but it could be partly due to more familiarity with the servers and a higher comfort level from two years in the program versus one week, but I hope not. Passing as a team seemed okay at first, but then it didnโt. I was disappointed, but Iโd rather be disappointed in the scrimmage and see improvement during the season. The serving was tougher as well. Livingston in particular was very good serving, as she kept the ball in while hitting both droppers and drifters in the same spot.
I wanted to mention that Whitney Bower looks very fit with a bit higher vertical on her blocking. She impressed me the most, as she has definitely gotten better and distanced herself from Hifo, who also has improved.

Interesting that Koerber was not pre-season all conference.

Interesting that Koerber was not pre-season all conference. That is interesting, because they included Gneiting and LMU's Megan Rice, who have been away for a couple years... Koerber is going to be a first teamer by the end of the season, though.

At least they've played in the WCC.
I thought it was awkward last season when Taylor Wolf (Green Bay -> Marquette) was named all preseason Big East

I thought it was awkward last season when Taylor Wolf (Green Bay -> Marquette) was named all preseason Big East Isn't the point of the all-preseason team to predict who will be on the all-conference team at the end of the year? I mean, all-preseason teams aren't particularly meaningful in general, but if Logan Eggleston transferred to San Diego, I would expect her to be on the all-WCC preseason team.
