Played with Billeter, Llarenes, Prior and McComber on Saturday. They are ballers! Billeter passed and defended very well. Same with McComber, her defense was insane. Llarenes and Prior were bouncing on a men's net haha so that was awesome. Their blocking was what impressed me most though.

I quit following any BYU sports after the way Elaine was dumped by BYU administration. I wrote Elaine a letter expressing my outrage. She responded with a kind, “It’s okay” type letter saying, “I just wish it have been handled differently”.
Her former players threw her a surprise party and honored her at a game, with no help from the administration. There were at least 75 of us there, on very short notice.
BYU tried to make it right by naming the court after her. However, I’m not aware any public apology was given. It’s a point I make every time BYU asks me for a donation 🙂.
She is the kindest, humblest, most genuine person I’ve ever met.

Wow, that was bad. This happened before I got to BYU, so I wasn't aware of the details, but yikes. All they had to do was let her retire and thank her for her many years of service to the university. They never would have done LaVell Edwards that way. |

Unfortunately, I can confirm that is true. A lot of the women's players I know from that era are not that connected to the program now (and I wonder if it was for that reason). Fortunately, on the men's side we don't have that carry over--although not saying we don't have our skeletons.
I think I will be in town for the last spring game against Utah--wonder if I can sneak in and watch.
