I'm posting about a small number of Minnesota fans. Nothing else. I've appreciated your passing stats and insight in the past but when it's unknown if CC was sick or injured now isn't the time to say anything disparaging or to get into some argument about her. Again, NOT about any player. It is about the attitude of small group of Minnesota posters towards posters talking about Minnesota volleyball.

So the worst match CC ever played as a Gopher. Then she leaves the bench in the middle of the match. Then she apparently leaves the building. It seems something was wrong, ya think? Come back soon, CC! When I posted about CC's poor passing last spring you told me I had "an agenda"! But now it's OK to talk about how bad her serve receive is? This isn't suddenly some new CC. She has been one of the worst passing liberos in the conference but whenever anyone said it, Gopher fans would get abusive/personal... Wow!?! You misrepresent my objection every time.

Would really like to know what caused McGraw to leave the match. She was walking, unassisted, towel around her neck, flanked by trainers out of the gym. And this happened while the match was still going. If it's a minor injury, she sticks around to support her team and probably returns to the bench. But to see her leave early is concerning.

That match was very close and the match tonight will go either way. I'm wondering if there will be any changes in starting lineup for Minnesota or if Minnesota will go to their bench a little more tonight.

I would expect that if CC is even slightly questionable they will rest her. I think the substitutions of Rubright in the middle, Kilkelly at libero and WenAAs at DS worked well. I rewatched a few parts of the replay and Kilkelly did a great job. I was pleasantly surprised with her second ball contact OOS. Wenaas looks like she just knows where to be all the time. AND...they adjusted their stupid tip coverage to have the off block front row player come over. *Edit: I can picture Wenaas being a six-rotation absolute stud in the near future.

This match is not a representation of how CC plays. I am not sure what bwf's point is here. I thought he was saying CC's passing stats indicated passing was not a strength. Now he's claiming that THIS match proves she is "awful"?
CC has not consistently passed at the level of an elite libero. *At times* she has been mediocre. She has never been awful. She has NEVER had a match like last night's (which wasn't just her passing). Something is/was wrong with her health. That seems obvious. Why are we piling on?

The block button is your friend. This person does not have the self-awareness to comprehend that the issue is not the information but the belligerent/condescending/repetitive way it is presented.

I think many of us can agree that Hugh does not sub much. However, in this match once he made that decision it was elevated to another level and became one of the most enjoyable competitive matches by two teams I have ever seen.

What an impressive match from both teams. Samedy showing us her full potential to dominate, and seems like she hardly breaks a sweat while doing it.
Rollins with a "quiet" 17 K / 28 Dig night.
Cleveland was a beast, but do wonder if she got tired in her first match back. Also impressed with Newton, don't recall her being this good in the past seasons. Purdue had some insane digs.
Kudos to the Gophers for grinding it out and winning a tough B1G road match. Will be interesting to see the rematch tonight.

In the PSU / Illinois 4 set match there were a total of 100 combined digs in the match. 236 combined attack attempts.
In the Minnesota/Purdue 5 set match there were a total of 211 combined digs in the match. 412 combined attack attempts. 😵
I find this comparison unique.

I couldn't watch it, but on paper it looks like a very good match. Purdue on the road after being on the road, it doesn't surprise me that it went 5 (honestly it wouldn't have surprised me if Purdue pulled it out).
This will be a fun rematch. Love the double headers just to see immediate adjustments and how teams react.

Could be a COVID test result or late contact trace positive? KG had to deal with that at last nights hoops game...

Concussion protocol makes the most sense. How loud is that horn/train whistle, for instance?
Again, speculation and I know I should not.

The best players find a way to take over a match, and that's exactly what the Gophers needed last night to pull this one out.
